Great for a cat who hates his claws trimmed
Work great! My cat HATES getting his nails trimmed. I would use to have to have one son hold him on his scruff and feed him lickable treats while the other held his paws while I trimmed them. I got this and since he can’t see what I am doing, I am able to trim his claws a lot quicker than before. I was even able to do them once with just me holding him! Win Win!

They worked for nail trims but seemed inhumane so I pitched something that didnât make my cats feel like they were in danger. My cats hated these but love the new ball that we use to clip nails

Bad idea, poor design, easily removed by cat
EDIT: Trying to hood this cat was so traumatizing for him. It is rather cruel and I wish I had sent them back. But I waited too late. The first one I put on my cat’s head, He immediately started running around like crazy and was confused. I had a hard time getting to him to take it off of him. I didn’t not think I will be using them. He was 9 months old. Then I adopted a 3 month old kitten and he became aggressive, biting on her, dominance and territorial. So I tried again with the hood, and he immediately yanked it off. I even sewed it tighter on the sides so it fit well, as it is a Large, all 3 of them. Same effect. He immediately pulled it off. The design is not conducive to a cat’s head. Unable to secure items tight enough that they can’t weezle out of it easily. Improper fit for cat’s ears as well. I would redesign it to have a body harness attached to it so cat cannot pull it off. Unfortunately, not enough opportunity to adjust to different cats’ head sizes, either. My thoughts. Trash that the kitten now plays with like a toy!

Great for clipping nails
It works great for clipping my cat’s nails. He’s usually so calm but when I clip his nails, he goes absolutely feral! The moment I put this muzzle on, He let me clip his nails with no problem and I didnt even need to hold him, he was very willing! There is plenty of room for him to breathe, in case your cat bites, the muzzle prevents them from biting as well, but mine didn’t need it thankfully! We also used it on a stray that we picked off the street a while ago since we saw that he was starving and his owner had thrown him out into the street. It was winter and we couldn’t bear to see him out there in the cold. However, we didn’t know how trusting he was with people, especially since he’s never gotten interaction before. This helped greatly!

My cat turns into a maniac at the vet so when it became critical for him to get a blood test I didn’t know what to do. The vet and the 3 vet techs were struggling to draw blood from him after 2 attempts. That’s when I decided to try the muzzle approach for the 3rd attempt. This muzzle has flimsy fabric but I found it necessary because it was less restrictive for my cat and allowed him to breath. It’s velcro is thick enough for it to stay on as well.I made sure to keep my cat in the car until they were all ready for us, went into the vet, removed him from the carrier and as usual he started moving all over, hissing and yelling. I slipped the muzzle on quickly (albeit backwards!) and it disarmed him. He was so baffled about what was over his head, that he stayed still long enough for the vet to lie him sideways, insert the needle and draw enough blood. Also, since his mouth was covered for those 2 minutes, the vet techs were more relaxed and able to do their job. So…. even backwards, it worked for me.
