I am a huge fan of nutrient survival shakes and some of their other products so figured I would try this. I wish I had bought a sample first as it is truly awful. I could barely choke it down. I think it was the texture which was pretty much like wallpaper paste. I will try it next time with rolled oats mixed in to see if I can salvage it. It’s pretty awful though so I’m not optimistic. Definitely won’t be buying more…canceled my subscription.

I bought a bunch of single-serving packs direct from Nutrient Survival to try them out. I would be pretty horrible to buy a couple hundred dollars in emergency food only to find out that you’d rather starve than eat that junk.Almost all of them are at least tolerable, a couple are excellent. The Hearty Apple Cinnamon oatmeal was the hardest for me to get through. I’ll give you that Quaker Instant Oatmeal has too much sugar, but Nutrient Survival went too far the other way. It’s very close to flavorless mush. Maybe I could have salvaged it by adding applesauce, but as-is, it’s pretty awful. One out of five stars is almost too generous.If you are looking for breakfast foods, the Nutrient Survival breakfast scramble is really good. The chocolate grain crunch tastes very similar to a chocolate granola bar, but it’s a cereal. The chocolate crunch bars are a little bland, but decent. The shakes are pretty good if you don’t mind that it’s not solid food. I just can’t recommend this one.
