Modified review: Great customer service
This unit looked like good quality and performed as expected for about three weeks. Now the unit will not charge up. It only works when continuously connected to a 120 volt outlet. After posting this comment on original review, the seller contacted me and offered me a full refund, even though it was after the 30 day return date. No customer could ask for anything more than that. Based on that kind of customer support, I ordered another unit. I’m betting the first unit had an isolated manufacturer defect. If that unit also fails, I will review again.

Silent and steady
It’s reliable and straightforward to use!I plugged it in right when I got it to see that it already has some charge to the battery so that’s cool.We have already experienced a few brief power outages and the lil air pump kept running flawlessly, keeping the filter I have one tube hooked up to functioning without skipping a beat.The other tube it connected to the air stone it comes with and I swap it over to help with brine shrimp hatching when needed; and since I need to dial back the air flow on the hatchery tube the air pump doesn’t get fatigued since the excessive output can run to the other tube connected to my filter.I note this because I have a standard plug in air pump with a single tube and it hates when I have to restrict the air flow and gets super loud and hot. But not this one, it works like a multitasking pro!

I ordered this when we were warned that there were going to be several planned power outages in our neighbourhood due to upgrades. Since the outages were going to be long enough to put my fish at risk, I ordered this to keep the oxygen flowing.I plugged it in to the USB that is built into the power strip where everything else for my tank is plugged in to. When the power went out that triggered this pump to turn on – exactly what I needed in case I wasn’t home. I swapped the air for my sponge filter to one side of this pump, and kept the other side for one of the included air stones. It does need to be manually turned off once the power is back on, but aside from it being a little loud, I think that’s hardly the worst thing considering how useful it is!Everything worked as intended, and my fish were happy through out every outage. I’m keeping it plugged in as a “just in case”.
