My Horses Favorite Feed Bag
I love this hay bag. The quality and weight of the material has impressed me. This hay bag has held up well to feedings twice daily for over a year. I just bought another for my third horse. The bag opens wide and is easy to fill. The straps make it easy to hang off the top rail of a fence, or off the wall/eye hook in a stall. My guys can be pretty rough playing with their hay bags and one of the metal clips did break. It was easy to replace with a double end snap and I continue to use this bag. The owner of the barn where I board my horse also mentioned to me that she appreciates that I supply this specific hay bag for my horses as she finds them easier and quicker to fill when feeding.

I am impressed with this hay bag, itâs large enough to hold about three substantial sized flakes of hay if you really pack it in there. I donât usually end up using the Velcro, as I fill it too full. I can load it on the fence rather than taking it down every time, which is a little tricky but doable. The clips and metal parts are nice quality and donât get stuck, and the bag itself is showing very little wear and tear. So far it has held up well, I have had it several months and itâs used daily. The horse has never had a hay net/bag before and he hasnât been frustrated with it at all. It has definitely cut down on wasted hay and extended the time the hay is front of the horse, which I think helps him stays entertained when he is in his stall.

Strong, durable…even to the toughest horse!
I absolutely love these hay bags. I love that they are the mesh stitching on all sides. They are large and are very durable. This was my 4th bag purchase after my mare found a way to destroy the other 3 bags. 1 of them she ruined the 1st time she used it. The straps are easily adjustable. I love that I can hang them on the outside of my trailer and they don’t scratch. I love that multiple horses can eat out of it at the same time because it is open on all sides. I love that they cant go through hay in 5 minutes. The only change I would make is some sort of solid fabric on the bottom along with the cross stitch straps…so when the bag is not full less hay drops out of the bottom. Really not a huge deal. Great bag. I have purchased for the rest of my herd and love it!!!

This is well made and sturdy. I have been using it for several months now and can tell it would be hard for my horse to wear this thing out. What I do is weave the hook straps through the top holes to close the bag tighter, then hook two large carabiner clips to the straps and hook it to a large eye bolt on the floor of my horses feed box. That way it keeps him eating in a head down position, and he is slowed down by the hay bag. I am glad that I bought this for my horse because he kept putting holes in slow feed hay nets. This bag is a bit tricky to load though. I hang mine on a gate by the straps and it is not too bad though. I can easily fit ten pounds of hay in it, but it would hold more.

I love Derby Original hay bags! My horses, one in particular, are REALLY tough on hay bags! We were going through 2-4 A year and I’m pretty picky about hay bags so i don’t buy cheap. And I water down or soak hay so it needs to drain well. These are perfect AND I have not had to replace them so they have already paid for themselves! I hang them up differently in the stalls. The snaps are clipped to the fencing upper half dividing the stalls and resting against cement blocks on the lower half well off the ground but horses still pretty much in grazing positions. I use carabiners to connect the top rings sewn into the hay bags and run the straps through the carabiners and the snaps at the top clipped to the fenced upper half dividing the stalls and the bags rest against the cement block wall lower half well off the ground but still a grazing position. One horse has the smaller squares because she’s patient and inhaled her hay. The other horse is not as patient so she has the rectangular sized holes. I LOVE them and my horses love these bags! Highly recommend!

Falling Apart After 3 Uses. Terrible Quality.
I purchased two of these bags, used them only three times and they are both completely falling apart. My horses are not aggressive eaters either. Definitely a scam, donât buy.
