Customers say

Customers find the clamp lamp to be a top quality fixture that works well with grow lights and for raising chickens. The heavy-duty cord and ceramic bulb socket receive positive feedback, and customers consider it good value for money. The heat retention is effective, with customers noting it provides the right amount of heat and light without getting hot from infrared bulbs. The clamp and build quality receive mixed reviews – while some find the clamp strong and the ceramic socket sturdy, others report the clamp isn’t great and the product isn’t durable. Additionally, the lack of an on/off switch is a significant drawback.

good, functional clamp lamp–works with heat lamp bulbs
Purchased this for use with Red Heat Lamp 250 Watts BR40 5,000 Hours Long Life Medium E26 Base Light Bulb Industrial Grade, Red. Oddly enough, it doesn’t have any kind of on/off switch, so I also purchased Lutron TT-300NLH-WH Credenza Lamp Dimmer White. As other reviews have noted, it did come in with a few small dents. Of course, I don’t see how this matters. Mine were small and don’t really affect the functionality of it. It works. I screwed in the bulb and it turns on. No short circuits or anything. The clamp works and holds it firmly in place. it’s also adjustable, so you can point it in whatever direction you want. I like that feature.Otherwise, not much more to say about this.

Warms you up and feels great! Relaxing too
I wanted a light for my bathroom that I could use to make me warm and if some other benefits could be had… as I see people buying lights for all sorts of reasons such as healing, wrinkles etc…. so I just hate feeling cold… ANY way it works great for that and I’m very glad I bought it. It lasted anout 6 months of pretty much everyday use and was on alot of the time. REALLY ALOT. So I am reordering now since its burnt out.Quality is decent….. I mean, its a light bulb. Lol not sure what it is people are expecting it to do… from some comments apparently they are expecting alot.I am thinking of making my own sauna and I would think that 4 of these lights … maybe 6…would accomplish that…. if I do it ill leave a review on that.

Works but you need something to hang it!!!
I got this “brooding” lamp to use with TheraBulb NIR-A Near Infrared Silicone Coated Safety Bulb – Small Form 150 Watt, which is a 150 watt incandescent bulb that recommends a lamp socket rated 250 watt or above.Initially, I dismissed the idea of buying a whole new lamp for it (I already have a clamp lamp that seemed similar to this one) but after reading the directions (and some scary reviews describing exploding bulbs) I realized that my clamp lamp wasn’t rated for anything above 60w, and definitely not for heat. I’m REALLY glad I decided to shell out the extra $12 for this one because the bulb definitely puts out a lot of heat and this lamp handles it safely. There is no on/off switch for this lamp, but how much this bothers you will probably depend on your set up and how paranoid you are about the safety of it. The lack of an on/off switch won’t matter if you’re leaving it plugged into a socket that has a light switch. I wasn’t planning on leaving this lamp out and plugged in all the time anyways, so it doesn’t bother me. The directions for my bulb actually say specifically not to ever leave the lamp it’s used with plugged in unattended–even if it’s “off” (probably a safety issue with all heat bulbs). The cord is short, but it’s nice and strong. It’s never sparked any time I have plugged or unplugged it (my other clamp lamp sparks every time!). Make sure you use it with a surge protected socket (I think most are surge protected).I find this lamp easy to handle and manuver even when it’s hot. I’ve never used it for hours at a time though (might be different depending on the bulb and how long it’s burning). I HAVE noticed that the ceramic socket gets really hot but the metal sides and the cage guard have never burned me when I’ve touched them, even after 30 mins (I find it interesting that they don’t get anywhere near as hot). The cage guard also isn’t as annoying as I thought it would be. Those wires actually protect the bulb from breaking if it drops to the floor.I find the clamp completely useless which is why I took off a star (if your lamp doesn’t come with one I’d say good riddance). The clamp is so strong that I can barely get it to open and even when I have clamped it successfully to something it takes so much adjustment and messing around that I’ve just found it more convenient to hang this lamp from the metal hook on the top (i’ve got it hanging from a lamp similar to LEPOWER Metal Floor Lamp, Adjustable Head Standing Lamp with Heavy Metal Based, Reading Light for Living Room, Bedroom, Study Room and Office). Luckily, the clamp is removable and there’s already nice metal ring on this lamp to hang it. You’re supposed to use a metal chain or hook to hang it BTW (you risk safety issues otherwise–especially if you’re using it for brooding).ETA (or TL/DR): I use this lamp for light therapy and recently ended up buying this heavy duty mic stand to hang it: Pyle Heavy Duty Microphone Stand – Height Adjustable from 51.2” to 78.75” Inch High w/ Extendable Telescoping Boom Arm 29.5” and Stable Tripod Base – Clutch in T-Bar Adjustment Point PMKS56. This setup is the best i’ve ever found! It works really well–WAY better than those useless clamps or hanging it every time I want to use it! Looks like a real lamp and it’s super versatile because it’s so adjustable. There are cheaper $20 mic stands you could probably try, but I haven’t tried any of those.

    Protective wires are firm
The clamps are flat and straight and so it will slide down with weight unless there is something to stop it from sliding. The protective wires are great to protect the 250W light I put in it.

    Works very well.
This worked very well for my chicks. I used a ceramic bulb that did not have the light. I used it inside my home not outdoors.

    Just what my seeds need
Great well-built product, it doesn’t feel cheap. It was packaged well so no dent on mine like other reviews, I guessed they fixed the packaging method. One thing tho, I wish the tilting knob is strong enough to hold it in position that I need. Also there’s no on/off switch on the unit, just plug on and unplug off. So if your outlet is hard to reach, you can add a smart plug. it would be more convenient. But it works for my situation and use.

inferior product – a swindle – false advertising.
This product is a swindle and is nearly useless for most practical purposes. What is not mentioned in the product description is that this lamp has NO on/off switch — in fact, the list of features goes on to mention a “convenient on/off button” – which is totally FALSE, there is NONE. Customers should be alerted to this before wasting their money on this inferior product. I am extremely dissatisfied, and would very much like to see Amazon ban this product from its website to prevent other customers from being swindled.

It’s perfect. Holds my 300 W bulb well. And I can clamp it to my shelf and maneuver it. Feels very secure I’ve been using for a couple months now no issues.

Thisfixturw works well and the cage fits in such a way it won’t fall off if bumped like our other fixture does. Much better design.

I’ve been waiting forever for the price to come down on these. They’re half the price they used to be! I got two. The lamp is strong and the clamp is very strong and sturdy. There’s no way they’re going to fall (I use a little rope just in case), but even if they do, the cage never gets hot no matter how long they’re on and the lamp itself only gets hot depending on the position. I use them for red light/NI therapy right now, but will make a personal sauna for next winter. Sorry the pictures are blurry ;/
