    Only 5 stars
The only reason I’m not giving this bucket 6 stars is because I can’t. But even if I could, I wouldn’t. 5 stars. The seller is misleading in the description and name of this product. To call it a “bucket” is like calling the Mona Lisa “painting”.When I first realized I needed a bucket, I realized I could easily just go to Lowe’s or other type home improvement store and buy one for less than $5. All I needed was a simple plastic bucket. Capable of safely and securely holding 4 gallons of water. This one holds FIVE! I didn’t even need it to be plastic. While it was preferred, I didn’t need anything fancy. I didn’t need to get up that moment and drive to the store and buy one so I ordered it and expected maybe 2 or 3 days because of such a plain and readily available thing. When I got a “delivery delayed” notice, I was a little surprised. But since there was no pressing need for its presence, I wasn’t upset. It finally arrived. At last. Now I can change the water in my fish tank. As I begin the process, I open the perfectly packaged box. As I’m lifting the cardboard flaps of the box, one by one. Slowly revealing and liberating my new tool. Before I fully lifted the last two flaps, I could see that some portions of the “bucket” were visible. What I could see was the lid, the handle, and the top portion. Immediately I knew why the delay. Its uses are endless. They don’t stop with safely and securely holding water. And upon closer inspection, I believe the buckets main body and lid aren’t made of just plain simple plastic. This is some space aged ‘ish. It’s perfect. And the precision of the injection mold was exact! Zero excess space plastic around the edges. Chefs kiss! And the metal they used in the handle…. I had my cousin at the university run tests on its composition in his metallurgy lab. Results inconclusive. 1% recognizable metals only found in asteroids. The other 99% “UNKNOWN”!!! Ademantium? Mithril? Who knows. A mystery for now.Anyway. 5 stars because the name and description don’t do it justice. If I had known what I know now, I would have ordered more. Now, I don’t think I’ll ever need to buy another 5 gallon Swiss army bucket again during the rest of my life. Great gift idea though.Hope this helps.

Needs a heavy rubber mallet to seal the lid
The lids don’t fit the buckets so easily. I first tried pressing them down with my hand in a circular pattern. Then I used a piece of 2×4 wood to press against the lid and I hit that firmly with the hammer. It still did not seat on the buckets. Then I tapped on the lid directly with the hammer and it still did not seat and seal. So then I started to write a very negative review. And I stomped on the bucket and then I got the part where I stopped to seat tightly. So then with my foot I stopped in some other places rather hard and it seemed to seat. So then I got a hammer and really whacked it hard in the remaining places and now the lid is sealed. My only regret now is I didn’t put an oxygen absorber inside with the grain. I would recommend using a rubber mallet because the metal Hammer I used could bust the plastic. But I did get the lid to finally close tightly. The only way to remove the lid now I think is to tear the plastic perforated tear off tabs. But I think I have a good seal. Just an unexpected couple of glitches trying to get the lid to attach.

    Durable, Well Made, & Functional
These are great storage buckets but they were two tall for my space. I requested a return but so far the seller won’t take them back. I wish they had fit. I reordered and received the size that works. The color is great, they are very durable, GREAR value for the money. I gave it a four only because the seller won’t take them back.

    Made in USA
The quality of these buckets is excellent – very sturdy and well made. The price plus shipping is very good for a product of this quality. I had a problem with two lids missing. Customer Service was also excellent and they corrected the missing parts. The quality of these buckets is excellent – heavy duty, sturdy and well made. I am using them to ferment fish fertilizer for several weeks so I am very pleased with the tight seal of the lids. In fact the seal is so tight I am getting a lid-opener tool to safely open them when the concoction is ready to be opened. My shipment was missing two of the three lids, but they satisfactorily sent me the lids.l Plus I am very pleased to get a product from a small company and made in the USA

The bucket is clean enough to store food products
The bucket arrived as expected, it was packaged well. The lid required that you pull a plastic strip to separate it from the bucket, I suggest that you use pliers ( it was hard to pull ).

Sturdy with a beast of a lid to close
Let me address the lid; YES it does fit! There is a trick to get it to seal. At first I too thought the lid didn’t fit. Here’s what you do. Place the bucket on a hard surface; I used my brick steps. Place the heels of your hands one one section of the rim and press down, using your body weight to press the seal of the lid down over the lip on the bucket. Once that section has sealed, work your way around the rim until all of it has sealed. I love the buckets, perfect for me; I can’t lift a full 5 gallon bucket up high enough and the 3.5 gallon does the trick. I am ordering more of them. I’m getting a bucket lid opener also, pretty sure the lid will be hard to remove; but that sucker is sealed tight!
