Versatile solid wood enrichment for small pets
I’m impressed with this swing. It is solid wood, not plywood or MDF. Although the listing doesn’t specify what type of wood is used, it is kiln dried and smooth with no odor. It is crafted well with sturdy hardware and the hooks and hanging chain appear to be of good quality. An inexpensive Phillips head screwdriver was included to quickly tighten the corner screws that go through the wooden dowel side pieces that attach to the hooks at the top and it was easy to use. The swing is appropriately sized for an adult chinchilla. I will be using it for our four pet rats. The swing can hang from the cage bars to sway back and forth, or you can easily remove the chains and use it as a bed on the floor. With a few zip ties, it can be attached to the cage sides and can be a fixed raised platform. The little cotton fabric stuffed pillow is cute and fits right inside the swing, but I will not be using it. I’m concerned about my rats chewing it and I’m unsure of what is inside. If it is polyfill, it could get snagged on small pets’ toenails and can cause safety issues. At the very least, the cushion would quickly become a urine absorbed smelly mess. For these reasons, I am leaving it out. I’m happy with the product and pleased with the craftsmanship and versatility. It will provide enrichment and fun for our mischief of rats.

Very Nice Quality
I actually got this hammock for my bird instead of a chinchilla. My bird is a caique, and he has some issues with balance and vision, so this will be a nice place for him to chill out. If he refuses to use it for that, it will corral his food dishes nicely. It’s a good size for either a chinchilla or a caique. As soon as I took this hammock out of the packaging, I was impressed by the weight and the solid feel. A lot of the wooden pet items you get online are pretty lightweight and cheaply made, but not this one. The quality definitely justifies the price. I’m not so sure the bed is a good idea for a chinchilla, since it may not be good for them if they chew on it. It’s definitely not good for a bird, but it’s just set in the hammock and it’s really easy to remove. I may even find a different (non-pet) use for it. The hanging chains seem to be strong enough, and I like the type of clips it comes with. I’d highly recommend this hammock for just about any little furry or feathered critter!

Pillow is a hazard
The construction and quality of the hammock is well designed, however the pillow insert it comes with is a hazard.The material it is made with is thin and not durable. It can, and was, quickly chewed and torn. The stitching is on the outside which is easily accessible to any chin that loves to nibbles on things. The stuffing inside is definitely not chinchilla safe if ingested.If you throw the pillow out, it is still a decent wooden hammock, given that your chin would like to use it.

My little floof of a nugget loves her hammock. I’ve caught her a few times enjoying a treat in her new favorite hang out.It was easy to assemble to the cage. I like that it has a cushion. It feels sturdy and I don’t worry about anything is going to fall apart. Recommended for all little fluffballs.

wooden chinchilla hammock with soft mat
I set this hammock up in my chinchillaâs cage and itâs quickly become a favorite lounging spot. The wood feels sturdy and safe, and the soft mat gives a cozy place for resting. It was easy to attach to the cage, and I like that it adds another functional level for climbing and play. The mat does get messy pretty quickly and needs frequent cleaning, which isnât the most convenient. Still, itâs holding up well for the price and my chinchilla clearly loves it, so Iâm happy with it.

Such nice entertainment for a chinchilla
This chinchilla swing is easy to install, and its bigger than I expected! My chinchilla absolutely loves this swing! You can hang it up or even leave it on the floor! It has a little cushion as well that you can put in or take out.
