A really high quality totally versatile lamp with many options for reptile light.
This is a very nice reptile lamp that just screams quality. The light itself is a good size, 16 in long, with brackets that let it go out another 8 in or so. This is easy to set up on your terrarium, and it comes with several options for doing so. This has four different modes of adjustability for the standard for mid settings, and theoretically there is an adjustable one in a fifth mode, but I have not yet figured out how to use that. This does however, have a timer function built in in addition to the four modes , and it can be set to whatever your needs are. There are different brightness levels, and the brightest gets very bright indeed, so this light works very well in a variety of conditions. Be aware that this light is not a heat source, and if you need heat you’ll have to supply it with a separate heat lamp. This is a high-quality unit and considering all of the features that it has I think the price is very reasonable and makes for a good value. I can definitely recommend this terrarium light , five stars!

No instruction manual, and it is impossible to use. You cannot switch from M0 – the manual option – to any of the other settings, such as Forest. I pressed every combination of buttons. I searched the internet. I called Amazon customer support. Absolutely ridiculous that they ship a product with no indication as to how to use it and don’t provide any information.

Some issues…
There are a couple of things that bug me about this light fixture.First, there is no guard to prevent moisture or humidity from collecting around the little light chips. If you’re intending to use it for an enclosure that needs to be misted or has a higher level of humidity, I worry about damaging the electrical components of this light. I would not put this over a fish aquarium.Secondly, it is known that UVB lights are required for D3/calcium metabolism in certain species, and that they need to be replaced regularly because they will lose potency over time. I didn’t see any information with this product that addresses this issue. In fact, I noticed that even on the listing, it attributes UVA to vitamin D3 metabolism, which is incorrect. I worry that people who rely on this product to keep their reptiles healthy will end up with metabolic bone disease.However, if you’re utilizing this for just a light… I suppose that’s ok. The different options for mounting are nice, and it can get quite bright. The options are easy to navigate. Ultimately, I’m not sure if this product is really worth the money without a radiometer to measure the UVB output.
