Small Pet Select’s Hemp Pelleted Cat Litter offers a revolutionary approach to cat hygiene that marries environmental stewardship with superior functionality. Crafted exclusively from 100% all-natural hemp fibers, this biodegradable kitty litter stands as a beacon of sustainability in pet care. With its roots in hemp farming—a practice that sequesters up to 10 tons of CO2 per acre, far surpassing the carbon capture capabilities of trees, and without resorting to pesticides—this product is a testament to the potential of eco-friendly materials. The process not only benefits the earth by significantly reducing carbon footprint but also provides a safe, chemical-free litter option for cat owners. The litter’s unparalleled absorbency rate, which is five times more than that of traditional clay litters, plays a crucial role in maintaining a fresh and odor-free living space. By effectively capturing and neutralizing ammonia odors, it ensures a cleaner, drier bedding experience for cats. This feature, combined with the litter’s hypoallergenic nature, makes it an ideal choice for felines with sensitive systems. Additionally, the fact that it is fully biodegradable and compostable aligns with a lifestyle that prioritizes the health of our planet, making it not just an eco-friendly choice but a practical one for maintaining household hygiene. Choosing Small Pet Select’s Hemp Pelleted Cat Litter is a declaration of one’s commitment to environmental responsibility and the well-being of their furry companions. It represents an advancement in pet care, where the choice of litter goes beyond mere functionality to embrace purity, performance, and a dedication to planet-friendly principles. With this litter, cat owners can provide their pets with a superior, comfortable living environment while contributing positively to the global effort to combat climate change. This product, weighing 20lb, is a small step towards a greener future, encapsulated in the daily routines of pet care.

Meh, like the paper pellets better than hemp
Eh, our bunnies and I as their human like the paper pellets better than hemp for their litter. This wasâ¦.fine. But not great.

Great Eco Friendly cat litter
I love that there is a great alternative to clay litters that actually works just as well if not better. I was skeptical of this as we have been thru so many cat litters and sadly only one has worked well for us , we are a 2 cat home , and 2 picky cats at that. They are extremely finicky about their litter. An important thing to this is the pellets are bigger than the holes on your average scoop so you cant really use the scoop to clean out your litter box. We happened to have a sifter type box in the closet that i had bought but never used since the sides was lower than the one we have now. I set that one up with this litter and left their regular one up as well just in case they refused to use this one. They did use both which i was happy about but i found that sifting the litter was alot of work and not near as easy as scooping. The pellets break down and can be shook thru the sifter but again it takes more time than scooping. As far as smell , i dont feel it did as good a job as the clay litter , i could definitely smell the litter box. Its great if you have the time to sift it daily but i dont think it will work for us.

Not so fresh…
Sure, this might be environmentally friendly, but the bottom line is that this stuff just keeps the stink potent in the air, and it gets all sticky and gross, making it harder to clean. My cat isn’t a fan of it either.

Best used in an automated litter box
I have a couple robot litter boxes and one normal one, and I recommend using this in the automated ones because it can easily get filtered through the sifter. The pellets are a little too large to work with a normal scoop. If you have a robot litter box, this is great though. I have one cat who tends to munch on litter when she’s hungry and I worry a little less about her sneakily eating a piece of this one.

cat approved
My cats will use it – the last time I tried hemp, my cats refused to use it (it didn’t clump the urine)- I guess it was the smell of old litter-cats have a great sense of smell. No problems with this litter – the clumps are there to be removed and the cats use it fine. I can’t speak about the biodegradeability (I throw all litter out – I don’t trust the old plumbing to handle it) – but I can talk about the clumping – and the fact that my cats use it.

Cat wouldn’t go for it
I was hoping my cat would take to this litter. I use the traditional clay clumping litter which works ok, but it makes a mess. Even with a low tracking litter and mats around the litter box my cat manages to scatter litter throughout the house. This is shaped like small pellets that I would imagine do a better job staying in the box because it would be harder for them to get stuck in paws scattered aboutI also like the eco friendly, biodegradable hemp based ingredients. It definitely has a unique smell compared to other litters with more of an earthy scentUnfortunately, my cat just wasn’t having it. I’ve tried for about 10 days now to get him to use it, and it’s not happening. I tried to just put a little in the bottom and his normal litter on top, but as soon as he digs a layer down and smells the hemp pellets he bolts. I think it’s just too different from his normal litterMaybe over a long period of time I could switch him over, but it would be a long, slow process that I just don’t have the energy for with no guarantee that he would ever take to it. This is something I would love to try with a new kitten that doesn’t already have a long period of time with another litter, and I could introduce it earlyBecause my cat wouldn’t use it I can’t say how well it clumps and controls the smell. My cat is just too stuck in his ways
