Great for heating hose bib box for freeze protection
I purchased two of these for two insulated boxes I fabricated to install during sub-freezing temps around my exposed hose bibs on my 1920s home. I paired them with thermostatically controlled plugs, turning at 38 deg F. These provide the perfect amount of heat, no light, and last much longer than an incandescent heat bulb.

Good for lighting only.
Iâm going to start off by saying that I read several mixed reviews about this bulb. It works great for lighting purposes only. Especially if you have a small tank. I have a 20 gallon tall arboreal set up and it lights up about 1/3 of the cage but that was my goal.

Not for heat
This is tiny. Puts off very lil heat. Was hoping for a lil more heat to add to my Tarantula enclosure. Didn’t do the job. But great for light. I know it’s better to heat the space around the T enclosure but that can be difficult and unsafe to do.
