Holds a lot of hay!
This item is as described and deserves the five stars. However, in real life use, I found it too big to be practical. It says large and it is. I do think it might be better for sheep. It just missed the mark for useability with horses. This may just be my management style, but I wouldnt put this out in the pasture or have horses share it nor would I need to feed one horse the amount of hay it holds, and I couldnt lift to hang it if I did. I had planned to use this on the picket line to keep horses from wasting hay, but I dont think its going to work for me. Still, a well made sturdy product that will work well for some people’s system.

Very durable high quality hay bag!!
Short versionPros â¦-Really durable high quality fabric and looks nice-Stands up on its own so itâs easy for one person to load-large, holds a lot of hay-works well for the small goats and larger horsesCons â¦-the dividers are almost useless being held on with velcro and were easily undone by both goats and horses.Long version.I was actually pretty impressed upon opening this hay bag. It is a bit pricy compared to the hay nets Iâm used to using but I see why.This thing is super sturdy and well made. And it is so nice looking.The stitching is secure, the hooks are sturdy, the fabric is thick and durable and I think it will last a long time. The rope that cinches at the top and the webbing strap could be a bit thicker (especially compared to the bag fabric) but I think they work just fine.It is a great size. I took a pic of it next to the 40â T teke nets I love. I am not currently using square bales (Iâm filling bags off of a round bale as I used my last square last week) but I think it would easily hold half a 40-50lb square bale, maybe even more. And it stands on its own so itâs super easy to load without help.The goats (Nigerians) werenât sure what to do with it at first (they were skeptical) but once they realized it was holding hay they started chowing down. The horses were quicker to figure it out and didnât bat an eye.I read the previous reviews about how the X dividers were held on with Velcro. But the Velcro was pretty strong so I was curious if the animals would actually pull the dividers out. Well it took exactly 4 minutes of the horse eating before the Velcro on one side came undone. And it wasnât because of her biting it and pulling it off, it was her pushing in with her nose.But what surprised me the most was that after about 10 minutes one of the goats had done the same thing on her side, pushed in with her nose and the Velcro came undone.So I just removed the X dividers and both the goats and horses could then fit their nose in the holes to eat freely. Of course they do eat out of it much faster than if the dividers were in, but there was still little waste so itâs all good.I would definitely recommend this for both horses or goats (provided the X dividers are removed or sewn in). Iâd give it 5 stars if not for that flaw in design.I havenât tried it with the milk cow yet but I think she would have no issues using it.I think it would be awesome for using in the trailer.

Super large capacity hay feeder.
This feeder is massiveâperfect for hauling a big load of hay, even in a tight two-horse trailer. The double-sided design and swivel hardware make it super convenient, and itâs built tough to last. The only downside is the Velcro straps, but theyâre removable if theyâre not your thing. Great for travel or daily use!

If only the hook was as tough as this bag
The Good:This is a good way of feeding my goats. If i use a regular style of hay feeder they just pull it out and make a wasteful mess of everything.Not only does this keep more of the hay inside, but it plays to the playful and curious side of the goats. since I hung from a hook, they would bat it around while trying to get the hay out. seemed fun for them. The Bag lasted, but my hook that I hung it from did not.The Bad:Goats, at least mine, love Velcro. they figured out how to chew the Velcro straps off of the bag.The ugly:Nothing ugly to mention.

Well constructed except for velcro
This is a pretty nice hay bag. It will easily hold 3-4 good size square bale flakes. Depending on the size of your trailer and your horse, it may be a little too big to hang in front of them on a two-horse straight load and still give them room to move their head around it (I have a 16.3h TB and it was a little crowded for him). But, hung outside or in a stall, it’s great and keeps you from having to refill so often.The fact that is stands on its own is a really nice feature and makes is it so much easier to fill than a net or other bags I’ve used. The strap ,drawstring, and snaps seem solid, plus the snaps had a really pretty gunmetal finish, Velco dividers didn’t work for me, just came off too easily. I do have a really mouthy horse, but he pulled one off right away, so I just took the others out. For the price and construction, it’s a good deal, but I wouldn’t call it a slow feeder bag because of the velcro straps.

Good quality and perfect for my goats
This is working great for my goats. It helps keep the hay off the ground and at this point they have not chewed it up. The holes are perfect for allowing my goats to eat but not drop and lose the hay on the ground. The fabric it is made from is a good weight and nice quality. It is lasting long than I thought it would with four goats eating from it.

The cross straps are just Velcro’d on and animals immediately pull them off
This canvas feed bag is ultra heavy-duty material. The straps and buckle are also of nice quality. The problem I found with this design is the feed holes. The product description states “Each hole comes with a cross strap that allows you to adjust the size of the feed hole to suit your horse’s needs.” What isn’t clear in this description is that the cross straps are just attached with velcro. The first time a horse or goat pulls hay out or pulls on the strap – it will be pulled off the bag.Two solutions – use the bag without the cross straps and you don’t have the ability to slow feed. The other option is to use a canvas needle and heavy thread and sew the straps permanently in place. We can fit over 1/3 of a square bale in this bag.I want to reiterate that the rest of the quality is excellent and it is priced right. If the straps were sewed on – it would be five stars.

Nice deep hay bag extremely durable.
Big durable hay bag. The material is strong and seems to be able to maintain heavy use by horses. It said for goats too but it seems way too big for our goats. But horse wise this works great.
