The favorite of birds at my house in Minnesota
Absolutely the favorite of all the woodpeckers, flickers, etc. This is the only suet I buy. The birds easily finish off a suet cake in one to two days. The other suet brands are ignored for days

I’ve used this brand and this formula for several years now. Over and over it has outperformed other types that I have purchased. I live in Appalacia and get a wide variety of woodpeckers and some smaller birds too. Great value for the money. Does not last long … which is a sign it works 🙂

Overall good!
Not bad, and the birds still like it, though not as much as the previous one. I got the usual birds, red-bellied woodpeckers, downy woodpeckers, cardinals, Grey catbirds, grackles, etc.However, I am taking one star off because it melts in the high summer heat.

Birds Gone Bonkers â It’s a Feathered Frenzy!
I bought this suet to treat my backyard birds. What I didnât realize is that I was basically throwing an all-you-can-eat Vegas buffet for every winged creature within a 3-mile radius.The moment I hung it up, birds came out of nowhere. Sparrows, woodpeckers, a suspiciously swole squirrel, and one very confused pigeon who looked like he just wandered out of Times Square.A blue jay actually made direct eye contact with me while eating. I swear it winked. That canât be normal.ð¢ Pros:Instantly turned my yard into Bird TikTokWoodpecker now visits daily and might be trying to move inSquirrel union has declared my tree âneutral groundâMy cat is entertained 24/7 and has stopped knocking over lamps8-pack lasted longer than expected â possibly due to my strict “no seconds” policyð´ Cons:Birds now judge me if Iâm late refilling itOne chickadee yelled at me (or chirped aggressively â same thing)Neighborhood birds are forming what I can only describe as a tiny gangA crow brought me a button. The birds arenât crazy about the batch I got. They loved the hot suet which keeps squirrels away. Problems is the price went up almost double so I stopped buying.

Melts very bad at standard summer temps and makes a huge mess.
So I was very disappointed with the softnesses and even at only 80 degree temps it was melting and falling apart. I unfortunately had to scrub and clean every suet feeder because of the massive mess. When opened, 2 of the suet packs were molded and I had to throw them out. Why this review isnât 1 star is because the woodpeckers love the food. Itâs odd because Iâve bought this for years and havenât had this issue with melting and mold in the past!So CONS are:moldmelts at standard temps <80 thus if hot climate donât buyDifficult to open because it is now plastic wrapped and you can have to cut it open (no tabs or corners to pull)Very messyCould be thicker as the standard suet cage can almost fit two of these but not quite.PROS:Birds love itExcept thickness the size is correctPrice is lower than most but with the mold and melting it is NOT a value.I will look around for other products. I may order this in the winter when I donât need to worry about melting.
