    Similar to an earlier version
Trapping feral kitties who set up their tiny trio on my porch for TNR. Set up two traps for the mother daughter duo. As the stray, meaning dumped male, Sylvester, asked to come in the house to the kennel rather than walk into the carrier. He’s had a successful vet appointment. For the traps, set two up next to each other. The cats are use to me calling them for food. Upon working in their habits since November to make trapping easy.Today’s the day. Cat walked in this trap. Toward the wild caught sardines. Trap didn’t close. Cat walked out. As though she suspected something. Despite the traps being outside tied open for a month until we could get an appointment.Trap hack for quick release, add Vaseline to the hinge when set. Experienced trapper taught me this to help.Compared to the older version this trap is a little harder to close leaning on the floor panel. Upon setting have tested the trap a few times. Compared to the other that’s not been used yet this one requires more weight.Added wild caught tuna to the older trap. It closed easy peasy. Easily nabs the little lady. She feels so safe on the porch from working on grooming the cats for this event she didn’t wince when it shut. Kept enjoying her tuna. Meaning less stress for her.She didn’t freak when I walked up to cover her with a baby sheet. The only thing that the trap, old or new, doesn’t have is a clip to hold the gate closed. A friend lent me a trap that has a clip.Used a piece of wire to tie it shut. Since Tschuss tried to slip out. Her name means goodbye in German. The kitties aren’t very hefty despite eating well this winter. This one kitty probably weighs about eightish pounds and is less than a year. Maybe nine months.Tschuss was on the panel that should have helped shut the trap.Added more Vaseline and hoping this new trap works for kitty number two by tomorrow night for their Thursday appointment.Happy with the trap configuration. Like that the back opens and has a wire clip to create a sturdy back end. Easy to set.Only issue is the trap requires a little extra pressure to close. Hoping this next kitty will full court pressure the panel to help the cage close.Good deal. Should work long term when nabbing other kitties when they show up for TNR.

    Small Animals Trap
Trap seems to be well made for the price, works pretty good even tho I haven’t caught anything in it yet, bought the wrong kind of feed bait, gonna try something different, but the trap is good, heavy door locks in place after dropping with a push lever to open, hair trigger platform inside trap sets off easily too! I’m sure I’ll catch some squirrels sooner or later with it when I find the right bait attractant tho! Thanks! Mr. Benny B. (NEW UPDATE) I just caught my first squirrel in my trap this morning, finally found the right bait & trap worked like a charm! Bait goes in the very back of trap & sensitive easy trigger platform inside sets off easily when squirrels step on it to eat the bait! Fantastic trap! I highly recommend this one!!! 👍 Extremely satisfied customer!!! Mr. Benny B.

    Effective squirrel capture!
My country home is surrounded by hazelnut orchards. I have used the Havahart 0745 to catch hundreds of squirrels and lots of chipmunks over the years. This new trap is a bit cheaper made but it works just as well. I like the new door latch better but the trip lever can be a little problematic in holding the door open. A small adjustment with some pliers may be necessary. I run a wire thru a couple of drilled out nuts and attach it to the trip lever. I also wire a few nuts above to make sure they trip the lever.

    Efffective and sturdy rodent trap
I thought that the squirrels destroyed my fruit crops, but it turned out to be six rats and a possum in the period of a few weeks in the summer (maybe more than 5 pounds) They were effectively trapped with the use of raw peanuts. I don’t want to take pictures as they may grossed out some people (grossed me out when I have to transport them). Yes, it’s easy to use. No assembly needed and easy to set the trap. Very sturdy (large possum) Somewhat easy to remove the rodents if their feet don’t get caught. I bought another one for the front yard which I’m sure my neighbors will love.

Fairly easy to set up, effective, humane
The setup instructions weren’t particularly clear, but I’ve personally set these type of traps up before so it wasn’t an issue. For anyone else, there’s YouTube or your local wildlife rescue group you can ask for setup help.In our case, we caught the culprit that kept peeing on stuff in our greenhouse: the neighbor’s cat! Originally we were hoping it’d be a possum (PSA: possums are great, please be kind to them).Trap was very humane. Not a scratch on this poor ol’ tom. We baited the trap with a can of cat food and it worked so dang well.We sent the cat back home with food and water (not pictured), and gave the neglectful neighbor an earful about pet safety and local pet ownership laws. We’ve got the trap folded down in our storage for the next time we need it. So long as you keep it out of the elements, and store it in a dry place, I doubt it’ll rust much over time.I’d check locally first if you are fixing to buy this style of trap. A lot of folks buy theirs once, and then only use it once. You may find a cheaper deal locally. For us, however, lately our garden has been getting a few mystery visitors. We’ve also had friends express interest in borrowing our trap as well. We’ll probably get quite a bit of use out of this trap we’ve bought, which made it fiscally worth it for us.Best of luck catching things in your yards. Remember to check your trap regularly to make sure any caught critters don’t suffer in the elements.

Not really heavy-duty but gets the job done
It does the job but its not heavy duty, a little disappointed. But it works very small.
