Longer bulb than others
If you need this to fit in a reptile safety cage and have a bracket inside your tank⦠it wonât fit. The bulb is about an inch + longer than other brands. I had to return the bulb, cage and brackets to get the Arcadia reptile ones that arenât as long. I have 18â height in my call python enclosure so I needed to start from scratch with the heat emitter set up.

Halogen light that will fit in a regular bulb socket.
This is a nifty little heat lamp. I ordered the one without the glass lens because I used it to heat my lizards enclosure and it sits on a screen. It puts out light and heat equivalent to a 75 watt incandescent bulb. The light comes with a back up bulb. I have the light plugged into a timer, so it runs for 12 hours per day. I have had it going for over a month now without problems. The size is compact, but the flared socket allows the heat to spread out over a wider area instead of just focused in one direction. So far, I’m really happy with the design and how it works.

Warming bulb works well
This warming bulb works exactly as intended. And my little red slider turtle was basking in its light on his giant rock most of the afternoon today, so he approves as well! This is just a warming bulb! You need to purchase a separate UVB light if you’re using this in a reptile terrarium.
