Works well but trap arrived used.
The trap works well and trapped my first chipmunk in about an hour. It is lightly built but adequate for the small rodents it is designed to trap. It could benefit from carrying handles to allow one to carry a full trap without having to hold the sides directly and exposing fingers to sharp rodent teeth. Also, I was surprised to find the trap I received had been used prior to my purchase. It had what appeared to be old peanut butter dripping off the trigger plate (see photo). I had assumed, as it was not advertised as used, that it was a new trap. I took off a star for that.

Effective. Once. After having to rebuild it to use it the first time.
For starters, it arrived with two interlocking pieces required to set and trigger the door mechanism assembled so they couldn’t possibly meet. A full mesh-square out of alignment. But I really needed to act on the mouse situation. Noticed that one of the crucial trigger pieces was held in place only with bent tabs of flimsy metal. Took extended fussing and finagling with one hand inside the trap and one outside, and needlenose pliers, and a good amount of…words. But got it rebuilt so the trigger parts aligned as the factory workers failed to do…set it up…and within ten or so minutes it had caught not the mouse I was going for…but a small squirrel.I got him to the usual release place, brought the trap back home to reset it for the mouse, and saw that pretty much every internal element of this flimsy crappy trigger element was utterly bent out of shape, dislodged, and nonfunctional. From one use, and one small tenant.I tried for the better part of half an hour to fix it. No luck.This isn’t a trap, it’s a copy of someone else’s functioning Idea/design for a trap. I threw it in the trash. Then realized I might still be able to return it for a refund.I’m not sure what I’m going to replace it with…and still have the mouse situation to worry about. But I’d say don’t waste your money on this product.
