I added a longer tube to connect the nozzle it came with and put in an 8qt aluminum stock pot for a simple pet fountain diy… Also added a separate plug in light. Luv it!

No instructions, but can be set up in several configurations. Decent for a cheap filter.
I’ll give this one a 3, while I wait to see if it works.Out of the box, there are zero instructions (and multiple pieces).I had to look at the pictures online to figure out the different configurations that could be built (can set it up multiple ways, depending on how you want your water blowing into or running over the tank).Optional tube for oxygenation that would stay out of the tank and blow bubbles in thru this if you want to use it for O2.Messed with this thing for 1/2 an hour before I could figure it out. It does not turn on unless you actually press the suction cups to the glass (so you can’t submerge and hold it to test, you have to put it on the side). One of the suction cups kept popping off and I had to reattach it (and it wouldn’t work without it, so I suspect that’s the cup over whatever pressure sensor activates it when against the glass).The suction cups are strong enough to hold it on the glass and let you lower it into the tank low enough that you can put a lid on your tank which I appreciate (as I couldn’t find the exact replacement of filter that came with our tank kit).There’s just a piece of black plastic-like sponge inside the unit to act as the filter – which I presume you remove and rinse/wash out and reuse? (Again, no instructions).Definitely takes in and blows water out in all the configurations (we tested them all) – remains to be seen if dirt/debris/poo is actually removed from the tank, so will hold off on my assessment of efficacy.IF it works, not a bad buy for a super cheap filter that could be used in several configurations.
