Great addition for fish tanks or and water that needs to be tested!
I actually use this for my fish tanksâ¦Now there is some technical steps to make sure you have the ph set, itâs clean and prepared for first use..Once you read through the directions, itâs easy to use, and the directions are very clear..With the WiFi feature and the app, I can check the fish tank and get real time data..This save me a lot of time because I no longer have to do my weekly water testing.It doesnât take up much room and can be used for more than just a fish tank.. while I donât do hydroponics, this would be a must have for that!Itâs very easy to use, read, and set up.

Great System, Best Suited for Indoor/Greenhouse Use
I ordered this monitor to use with my outdoor fish tubs, in which I also grow houseplants hydroponically (monstera and peace lily; to help reduce the fish waste, and because they look nice). Iâm sure a lot of the parameters measured by this device pertain more to people primarily concerned with hydroponic vegetable growing. I didnât even know what EC and CF were and had to look them up. I am, however, concerned with temperature, pH, and TDS.The device must be prepared before first use by soaking the probe for 2 minutes, then immersing it into the liquid you want tested. There are also instructions on how to calibrate the pH (including use of the provided pH liquids) and the EC. I assume the pH is pre-calibrated by the factory, but the instructions recommend recalibrating pH every two weeks to every month, depending on how accurate you need the readings.Much of the instruction manual is dedicated to installing and using the companion phone app. I have not yet downloaded it as the readings I need can be seen directly on the unit itself. However, the nice thing about the app is that it can communicate wirelessly with the monitor, and you can set alerts to let you know if a parameterâs desired value gets too high or too low. (For my purposes, I only need to check periodically, so itâs not nearly as critical as it is if youâre growing plants and must get the nutrient levels correct).My biggest complaint so far is that the unit is best suited for indoor use (e.g., in a greenhouse), as the probe-to-main-unit connector as well as the AC adapter do not seem waterproof. I donât think Iâll be able to leave my unit in operation for extended periods, as it could short out in the rain. It would be nice to see updates to the device to incorporate some sort of waterproofing for the connections. Other than that, I think itâs a handy device.

Great Product.
This is great for getting your water readings without having to use regent drops constantly. It might be a little costly but, I go through a lot of bottles of drops each year and there not cheap anymore. This also saves time and so far has been accurate, according to my handheld meters of the same caliber (which have to be replaced every so often). It needs recalibrating the same as handheld but not as often, plus they give you plenty of calibrating liquid to get you started. I don’t have hydroponics, I have aquariums of fish that require special water quality. I use this in what I call my mixing drum to monitor the water before adding it to the aquariums. This little gadget is saving me time and expense and it should for you whatever your needs are. Easy setup and mounting, came nicely packaged too.

Much easier than test strips
Iâm using the Hydroponic PPM pH Monitor not for plants, but for an aquarium where I plan to breed freshwater shrimp. These shrimp are quite sensitive to pH and water hardness, which are critical for successful breeding. This unit provides real-time monitoring of both parameters. Iâve had it installed in a 20-gallon tank for a week, comparing its readings twice daily with test strips, and the results have been consistently accurate. In another week, Iâll set up the shrimp breeding tank, and after it stabilizes, Iâll invest in breeding stock. I believe this monitor will be far more reliable and convenient than test strips in the long run.

More than I needed, but all that I wanted!
This hydroponic WiFi 6-in-1 pH and EC monitor is definitely more advanced than what most aquariums need, but itâs a lot of fun to use. The setup takes some time â connecting to WiFi and calibrating the sensors isnât exactly plug-and-play â but once itâs running, it gives you a ton of useful data. The real-time readings for pH, EC, temperature, and more are very accurate, and being able to monitor everything from your phone is a huge bonus. Itâs definitely overkill for a basic setup, but for anyone who loves tracking details or wants smart monitoring, itâs totally worth it.
