Small sized rock hide
I picked this out to use for a tank I’m setting up for my Madagascar hissing roaches. There are different sizes, and I chose the smallest one. The rock hide is small, but accurate to the measurements in the listing, which is great as that’s exactly what I was looking for! It’s low profile but still was roomy on the inside, and my hissers love crawling around on it. It also could work very well with other invertebrates and insects, and would do fine for smaller species of frogs or lizards, too. The coloring is very similar to the product photos too, which is wonderful as I was wanting this particular brown color to match all the other decor in my tank setup. I always wash anything before adding to my terrariums – none of the paint came off of this hide, even after scrubbing with a brush. I like that its made of resin, as the material is easier to wash and is lightweight. The inside and all the edges are smooth too; which is excellent. So pretty much this is basically ready to go straight into your critters habitat right from the box!

Not as described–too light to use underwater
This little cave would be a great piece if used in a dry setup or terrarium. It looks great and has a lot of nice detail and natural coloring. Thereâs plenty of space for a small reptile to hide, and for under $10, it’s a great value considering the quality is so impressive.However, I specifically chose this particular one because the description stated it would work underwater, and even has a photo of it with fish. It claims that itâs heavy enough to stay put, but that hasnât been the case for me. It floats unless weighed down, and even then, itâs difficult to keep it in place. So, I couldnât use it for what I planned, which was disappointing.I would give this 5 stars if theyâd change the description to be more accurate about its weight and suitability for underwater use. As it stands, itâs better suited for dry habitats.

Small, but priced like a small hide. Decent realism.
The first thing to keep in mind, is that this is a small hide. Double-check your dimensions needed and make sure this works for you. I took a picture with a paper towel roll to give you an example of its size. This would not house most full-grown pets. That being said, it also doesn’t cost as much as a larger hide.The design, texture, and colors on this are realistic. It has a ‘river stone’ coloration to it that you don’t often see in hides. It is a nice change from all the ‘tropical’ colors they usually use. The outside has some texture to it, while the inside is much smoother. This is one of those often-overlooked things that can REALLY come in handy. The smooth interior makes it much easier to clean. Hides with texture inside can be so hard to clean out.Overall, I’m giving these 5 stars as long as you know your reptile and are certain it is a good size for them. It will make them happy. It would work for a young, bearded dragon or ground lizard/gecko.

Nice cave for reptiles
Bought this for my daughter who has over a dozen snakes. She has had reptiles as pets since she was five years old. She is always looking for another feature to add to her snake enclosures. This was a perfect addition to her smaller snake environment. Her snake loves to curl up in the cave and hide. Since this is a small cave, this is suitable for smaller reptiles and frogs, but not medium or large frogs. I would also not get this for a full size bearded dragon, although it would be great for a baby beardie.

Not that great for my salt water tank with fish
I can see how this might work in a non aquatic environment, but it did not work well for my salt water tank with fish. I had concerns when it was in my tank that the would be slowly dissolving or leaking paint into my salt water. It is very light and small. The value seems about right for the sizing/material. But I took it out of my aquarium due to my concerns and the build quality seemed flimsy.It looks okay, as a natural stone formation.
