Removes weight of horn in comfort
I bought this harness primarily for my bari sax, since that’s a bit of a heavy horn to support with my neck. This harness is comfortable and easy to adjust, and securely clips to the horn. I’m 5′-9″ and bought the Large harness to use with my bari and tenor horns. It works great for me on both. I use a traditional neckstrap with alto. The harness has a strap that buckles in front – it’s how you get the harness on and off. Once buckled, this front strap also has the sprung clasp to clip to the horn. The clasp hardware is metal, smooth, and black. I would not trust plastic clasps that other harnesses have to hold my $$$ horn. This harness is adjusted by adjusting the side straps like a backpack.I don’t have any complaints or even minor negatives about this harness, it may be the best saxophone accessory I’ve ever purchased.

Best of the four harnesses I tried for bari
I played bari in high school and used a regular neck strap except when marching. Worked just fine for years.Fast forward to being in my 40s, and the neck strap alone just wasn’t cutting it when I finally got my own bari. :)I tried the cheap harness that came with the bari, a Jazzlab saxholder, and the Gemini harness. None of them worked well for my tall, thin frame with bony shoulders.I decided to try the Pro Tec before springing $$$ for the Vandoren harness contraption that Leo P. uses, and I’m glad I did!! This harness is amazing. Super comfortable, easy to adjust, and never slips. I’m used to constantly adjusting my neck strap between songs, but this harness stays exactly where I put it.Buy it. You’ll like it.

Straight Forward and Very Good!
I am a newbie to saxophone and have been watching and listening to veteran players since I ordered mine. One theme that stuck out to me was that many veteran saxophone players kept mentioning neck issues. After all it is a relatively heavy instrument to hang from your neck. I first bought a padded neck strap and itâs fine but I know that I did not want to start issues with my neck from the start and decided to buy a harness style strap for my tenor. As a beginner, I knew that I would be spending hours with my tenor practicing and this is very comfortable for me to use. I am a larger 6 ft 1in male. Perhaps it may not be the best solution for the ladies. It only takes a few seconds to put on and get going. The adjustments seem to stay put better than my neck strap which over time seems to slowly pull down. This is a win for me practicing 2-3 hours a day in total comfort.

Relieves neck strain!
My neck is a lot happier now when I play my tenor. (My standard padded neck strap works fine for my alto & soprano)My biggest complaint with the harness is that (unlike most regular neck straps) itâs not quickly/easily adjusted if you play different saxophones, but the same can be said about every other sax harness out there. My other general complaint is that itâs just not as cool looking as a regular neck strap⦠but hey, permanent curvature of the neck doesnât look so cool either! (Ps. It blends right in if you wear a black shirt for performances)

Excellent product
Tenor and Alto Pro Player. 6’0 160 Lbs.Very good quality. Very comfortable, adjustable, and functional for a precise fit. I am very happy. There are no physical limitations. This can be worn under a sport jacket and you would never see it. No more pressure on your neck, cervical spine and your carotid arteries! Well worth it. Highly recommend.

Works Well for Old Bass Sax and Medium Body Frame
Got this Large size for my Conn bass sax. This body strap works well, although for a bass sax it requires tightening up the side straps a considerable amount to get the mouthpiece at the right height to comfortably reach my mouth. I’m 6’1″, 175 lbs with 41″ chest. The loops under my arms are fairly tight against my body. If someone has a large frame and is stocky, this may be too tight for comfortable or practical fitting for a bass sax.

Doesn’t fit a big dude
Bought this in the hopes of lugging around my baritone sax. This probably works well for someone if it fits them. I am 6’3 and broad chested, it was too small for me. Returned.

Excelente producto, puedes estudiar por más tiempo sin cansarte del peso del sax, en mi caso el tenor.

I tried a cheaper versions of this type of sax harness and had to send it back. The main issue was poor quality of the instrument hook, which could badly scratch the instrument, and the ease of adjustment of the straps and buckles. The Protec harness wasn’t much more expensive and has just been designed with more attention to detail. The instrument hook is metal, but coated in a soft plastic to prevent scratches. The harness strap buckles are also easier to adjust which helps to get a good fit.

I wish I had purchased this one first. I had upper cervical spine surgery and playing the sax with a typical lanyard type of holder put terrible strain on my neck and Iâd have a blistering headache in under 10 mins. This equally distributes the weight of the instrument.

El protector de plástico del anclaje se rompe.

It is too bad. I thought this harness will save my day. I tried it once. After 2 hours I felt like a nail in one side of my neck. It is large and comfortable and can be easily resised. Tenor sax can move easily away from body and right and left.
