    If you love your cat…….
I am a big proponent of holistic and as natural as possible with the food I feed my family. When I was young (before supermarkets and tons of additives and “fake” food)my mother and I would walk 3 blocks to the butcher shop where she would purchase our meat and the butcher would also grind up meat for our dogs. I have 4 cats and consider them part of the family, so about 10 years ago I started looking for the best food for them too……………hard to find, even from some of the “best” and unfortunately most expensive products on the market (why does “natural” real food for humans and pets cost more than the “junk”?) Over these past 10 years, I’ve accumulated several books on a natural approach to good health for cats. This is by far one of the best! Simple, excellent information and recipes and I love the quotes and the beginning of each chapter…….”It is one of the miracles of science and hygiene that the germs that used to be in our food have been replaced by poisons.” Wendell Berry…..and for a chuckle….”People that hate cats will come back as mice in their next life!” Faith Resnick

    What an eye opener!
Natural Nutrition for Cats: The Path to Purr-fect HealthThis book is chock full of information that every cat owner should be given when they first adopt a kitten. It’s a must read about pet food companies and how they operate.I can’t believe that I never knew how important a raw diet can be for the health of our cats! My father was a vet and we never talked about this. I just recently connected with a group in northern California that has cats living to be 20, even 25 yrs old! The secret seems to be feeding them the correct nutrients which includes raw foods. I have known over 20 vets for years and not one of them has ever mentioned a raw food diet and how much healthier cats are when fed this way. I am saddened to think that those I entrusted with my pets’ health didn’t guide me to the best for them!I recommend this book to anyone who wants to give their beloved kitty more healthy happy years of life! I also encourage you to check out “Pottenger’s Cats”- a study from the 1930s that is very revealing!

… nutrition and this book helped but the author doesn’t like cooked diets or any other alternatives
I needed some insight into feline nutrition and this book helped but the author doesn’t like cooked diets or any other alternatives. Many cat people will not be able to transition to raw. I am pursuing a 7 day high protein canned food rotation diet for my three cats. It took me quite a while to transition to grain-free. It takes a tremendous amount of patience, research and diligence as new products arise on the scene.

Great book for true cat lovers
This little gem really spells out how to feed your cat. I have known for years that a raw diet is the best way to feed them, but I could never get my two boys to eat anything raw. This book has helped me feed them right. I am almost there. In another few days they will be eating a completely raw diet. I no longer give them dried food. I know they like it but it is so bad for them, even the high quality, low carb variety that I have because it has been cooked. My cats have already lost weight and their coats are shinier and healthier. Knowing what I know about the human diet (that we eat too many carbs and not enough fat) I am certain that having my cats eat an ancestral diet is the way to keep them healthy and disease free. I highly recommend this book if you want your cats to live a long and healthy life.

    fantastic kitty food info
This book is fantastic! Kymythy writes in an enjoyable and easy manner. She is very easy to understand and I loved her quotes and pictures in each chapter. I find her recipes simple to make and my cats love them. As humans we should eat so nutritionally sound. Dr. Christine Kuhlman

Great book for cat lovers. I found it very eye opening and my cat is in the process of switching to the raw diet. I didn’t even have to think twice about it! So far he loves it. I’m lucky! If you are looking to improve your cat’s nutrition and overall health, I feel this is a must read. It is also straightforward and I personally find it easy to put in practice even if it can seem a little overwhelming at first. Once you have the ingredients sorted it all makes much more sense.

I really loved this book. Although it was tiny, it was well-written with accurate information. It is really hard to find writers who are willing to write about nutrition for cats, and the few that do, have false facts. This author had it bang on and even had a few recipes to make your own raw food. I was really happy to see a recipe for a vitamin mix to add to your cat’s food. I highly encourage you to buy this book if you are concerned about what is going into our pet’s food and want to make it right.

Excellent advice and clearly written. However, the cat did not switch and this is an ongoing project. I guess if your cat is not a hunter and has been taken from its mum too early and knows only tinned/packet catfood, this will be a difficulty. I’ll keep trying though!

This is a must read for all people who share their life with a cat. It gives clear, concise reasoning why cats must not be fed kibble nor canned food. Cats are obligate carnivores which means Mother Nature designed them to eat meat – not cereal.Read this book.Understand what Kymythy is saying and convert your cat to raw food.Your cat will be healthier and the vet bills will be much lower.I know – one of my cats died from being fed kibble – his brother is now fed raw and he’s much healthier.ONE CAT AT A TIME!!!
