My bunny loves! I always find him belly flopped on it. Helpful if you have hardwood floors too, bunnies prefer carpet texture – easier for them to hop and they can naturally trim their nails. Smaller than I expected, but heâs not complaining!!

This mat didn’t come with anything to fasten it to the ground, so I guess maybe it was made for the inside of a cage. However, I do not have a rabbit in a cage, I have an adolescent black cat that likes to scratch every surface in the house and is absolutely addicted to those cardboard scratchers. I thought she would really like this sisal material for a different texture of scratcher, and she definitely does! The only problem is it won’t stay in one place for her to really dig her nails in. When she starts scratching, the pad starts sliding all over the hardwood. I think I may get some velcro or something to try and fix it in place.

Not great for Guinea Pigs, Cats LOVE it, however.
Originally got this for our guinea pigs, but then I was informed by my roommate, who has had them his entire life, that Sesal is not Good for them, (Though the other animals on the list are fine) The guinea pigs have a hard time digesting it, And being what they are, they will eat it because it’s just in their nature, and it can clog their intestines. But guinea pigs are Very sensitive to a lot of things.Because of that, I Check to make sure it was safe to do so, and gave it to my kitten, (8 weeks old at the time) and she went crazy for it immediately, using it to scratch and roll on, sometimes just grabbing it to wrestle, even though it’s a mat, because kittens are strange that way, And it was highly Entertaining, still is; It held up to all of this abuse in part because it’s pretty thick. Even now, at about Thirteen weeks or so, she still thinks it’s one of the greatest thing in the world.So while I can’t speak to the small animal side of things, if you have a cat that’s picky about a lot of things, they might just be into this. Additionally, despite how much she uses it, it’s still in fantastic shape, so the cost was worth it.
