Quality System and Great App
I purchased this system after trying 2 other systems. I have been using it for about 3 months, and I LOVE this Smart Feeder. It’s very well-made – all parts are metal, not plastic. Excellent camera – good, clear images and you can adjust the tilt of the camera. That is a very nice feature. It includes a separate solar panel that is not attached to the feeder which enables you to place it in the proper direction of the sun and position the feeder itself in a North to Northwest direction, which is recommended. It does an excellent job of keeping the camera battery charged, even in cloudy conditions. It’s very easy to assemble and very easy to fill. It has an external antenna which seems to make it easier to pick up your WiFi signal. If you’re like me, your router is inside the house. I found several locations where the signal was strong enough to connect. Last, but certainly not least, any Smart Feeder is only as good as the App that supports it. This one uses VicoHome which is user-friendly and very helpful. It even showed the WiFi signal strength which was extremely helpful when I was deciding where to place the feeder. While you can use the system without paying for bird identification and image storage, I decided to invest in that simply because in addition to identifying birds and registering the history of how many visits occurred and when, if I want to easily see videos in which one of my favorite bird was captured by the camera, I click on the image history, and it will pull up all the videos in which that bird appears. With easily over 100 videos per day at this feeder, that is a definite benefit! I’m really enjoying this system, and am very thankful to have found this model.

Top notch, solidly built product
This feeder cam is solidly built! It comes with absolutely everything you would need to mount it along with the included solar panel. I put it together quickly and easily. The software was easy to setup as well. I charged the camera using a usb cable (also provided). I haven’t hooked it up to the solar panel yet as I am still looking for the perfect placement for the feeder, but the power is still showing in the 60 percent range after accessing the sd card many, many numerous times. Yes, it also came with an SD card! Even though it is a 32g card, I think their estimate of it holding thousands of video clips is going to be accurate. It charges with the included solar panel or usb cable. The solar panel is awesomely built as well. If you use the metal mounting bracket for the feeder, it has several notches where you can adjust the feeder out from the post or tree. You can also easily mount it on a pole which I have done. I haven’t seen a product so well thought out and executed in a very long time. They include a great, easy to follow, instruction manual. They have a Facebook group that is awesome, as well as a terrific Facebook product page. I am in love with this company! I sooooo recommend this product and company! This would be the absolutely best gift for anyone, not just for bird lovers.

I love my new birdfeeder. If you purchase one, give some serious thought as to where to put it. Roof overhangs, tree limbs, anything that will cast a shadow needs to be taken into account for best viewing throughout the day as well as recharging of the solar panel. Once you choose a location, it is easy to mount. Everything you need for mounting it on a tree, deck rail, pole, post… is provided and is good quality. The feeder itself is very good looking and heavy duty. Mine picked up our WIFI signal easily despite it being a level above and 1/2 the house over from the modem. I started with a full battery charge. Three days of constant rain later, and at least 300+ videos, the charge was at 97%. It will take a few adjustments to get the camera in the position you want it. Make sure you hang your feeder in an accessible place for camera adjustment and filling with seed. Hopefully you can tell from the photo that we mounted ours on our deck rail facing a nearby tree and put the solar panel further down the rail where it would get 5+ hours of sun. In no time at all my grandchildren and I were watching birds from the camera’s perspective. I do still have some learning to do in order to take full advantage all of all the features. I was surprised that birds began coming immediately despite the rain and newness of it. We love watching the variety of birds and their antics as they jockey for position on the feeder. We can’t wait to see the summer birds return. We are looking forward to trying out the hummingbird accessory.

Such a fun pastime!
Bird watching has been a super fun pastime! Itâs really cute being able to pull up all the little birds that stop by for a quick birdseed snack. Assembly and getting it up and running was a zinch. I did have to reach out to BirdSnap a few months later for an issue I had. They got back to me super quick, via the phone and also via email. In the end, I did have to get a replacement, but it was super easy to work it out with them, and a replacement was at my door the following day. Amazing service! Thank you, BirdSnap!

Great feeder, with one small caveat
I actually really love the feeder, but I bought this specific one because the photos show a hanger attached the roof of it. I donât have great mounts that are squirrel proof so I planned to hang it on my already existing mount with the baffle. It didnât come with the hanger. Thatâs the reason for the missing one starOtherwise it is great quality. The camera is very wide so you can see even more than just the birds in front of it. Itâs metal instead of plastic so itâs a bit more durable. The solar panel works great. I donât ever have to charge it. My birds seem to love it and it uses VicoHome app so I can connect some of my other camera to it without having to download other apps or pay for new subscriptions. Would definitely buy again (even without the hanger) and recommend to friends and familyÂ
