Works… blows easily
I bought these for my turtle. I have a dual lamp shade (one with a rocker switch and one with a dimmer). I put one of these in the dimmable side and it blew within 24 to 48 hours. I thought it may just be a bad bulb. Put another in and it did the same thing. I checked the specs on the socket I was using… its rated for up to 150watt x2 but can use lower watts. Maybe its just to powerful, idk.

This four pack of 50 watt basking bulbs is a great buy at just under $10. They are bright and put out decent heat and should be good for smaller reptile enclosures. These will be used for a small pair of turtles this winter in a 40 gallon breeder tank. They seem of decent quality. It’s important to use these and other high heat bulbs with ceramic socket fixtures for safety.However, because they are such a low price, I wonder how long they will last. Time will tell.Also, these bulbs only put out UVA rays, not UVB. They would be much more expensive and/or mercury vapor or fluorescent bulbs if they put out UVB.

It’s providing my chameleon with a good basking spot but I don’t know if it provides UVB
The light emitted looks like a regular light. It provides a good basking spot for my chameleon. Between 85 and 90° basking spot. It fit the normal dome hood.One of the light bulbs in the pack did not work at all.My concern is if the light is out putting any UVB.
