comes compressed and you need to let it settle before use
I use this as part of a prefilter for my pond, when it arrived I thought I got ripped off because it wasnt thick at all, like a cm or so. But if you read the instructions you need to let it decompress, I ended up hosing it off outdoors and leaving it to dry a few hours and man it got to the right thickness right away. Its been working great.

Is not rocket science, but the quality is off the hook.
It’s foam! And it functions as a filter! So does a sock. But this is better! Lol. No, good quality – I have to wash the crap out of them (literally and figuratively) every day, sometimes twice, and they are holding up awesome, with a whole sheet ton of more… See what I did there? They catch the stuff. I’ve noticed a difference in my tank, honestly. I don’t understand who would make this, repackage it, vacuum pack, ship, and warranty for… Pennies?! Great quality. Top notch.

Good filter for outdoor water fountain
We use these filters for rainwater off the roof to irrigate our yard, and fill the outdoor water fountain and birdbath. I cut the filter to fit around the water fountain pump to keep major leaves and gunk from hurting the little pump. I clean the filter or replace it about every 6 – 10 months. This material is easy to cut and clean, and is inexpensive enough to toss if I don’t feel like cleaning it with a high pressure hose spray. It comes vacuum packed, so is a bit of a shock to see how flat it is when you get it. I followed directions to get it to stretch out. This is the first time the foam didn’t fluff up immediately, so about 8″ of it is unusable. I’m not worried as the 12″ x 2′ piece I purchased will last me a long time.

I got the 1.5 inch 50PPI filter and it came vacuum sealed like ordering an online mattress. I say this because some reviews have the filter as misleading and thin which it is not. Comes with a little instruction sheet on how to reconstitute the filter. I just minimally got it wet in my sink and put it in the garage overnight. As you can see from the picture it returns to original size from the 1/4 inch vacuum sealed form. I like the price and it is $14 cheaper than my Savio F100 Weir well filter. I will use this as a pre filter to my original filter to preserve it a bit longer.
