Good Product for Fish Tanks
Very good conditioner for our many fish tanks. We have loads of fish tanks in the house and we like to use this conditioner to help with the water changes we do. It seems to be gentle and it works and we will continue to use this brand. It does come with a measuring cup (the lid) smaller tanks may take some figuring as it is a capful for 25 gallons so if you have smaller tanks you’ll need to work out what will work the best for your smaller tank. We also like that it neutralizes ammonia in the tanks. Overall, good price point and product has been safe for our tanks. We’ll continue using this product

Works great, but the price point is high…
I ordered the Koika Detox Dechlorination Anti-Shock for Fish and Ornamental Shrimp for my Betta tanks. The product is 6.08 fluid ounces / 180 mililiter and comes in a white plastic bottle with a standard screw top. The product requires 5 mililiters of product for every 200 liters of water and the bottle can treat up to 3,600 liters of water. The removal of chlorine and chloramines is a must for new tanks and water changes as these disinfectants, commonly found in drinking water, can literally unalive or hurt your tropical fish. You can removes these yourself by letting your water sit, open to the air, for 24 hours. However, with a product like this, you can condition the water instantly, expediting the process, and avoiding the need to have open buckets of water sitting around your home.Heavy metals, also found in some drink water, don’t cause immediate damage, but can hinder health in you fish over the long term. Nitrates, nitrites, and nitrogen can build up from over feeding or dirty water, and also hinder fish health. Water chemistry issues like these really affect long finned breeds like Bettas and delicate species like fresh water frogs and shrimp. So usage of such products make life a much easier on the aquarist, but are not a replacement for continual tank cleanings and water changes. The conditioner reduces/removes the following elements from the water within 30 seconds of adding it:- Chlorine- Chloramines- Heavy metals- NitrogenIdeal for both new tank setups and water changes, the product includes natural biopolymers, vitamins, and minerals that:- Promote a healthy water environment- Help fish maintain a strong bio-coat and restore microflora- Improve immunity- Lessen healing time from injuriesOverall, Koika Detox Dechlorination Anti-Shock for Fish and Ornamental Shrimp is a great way to condition you water and an extra back up against water quality issues. All of my fish have done well with this product and my water quality test kits show that the water is staying withing safe ranges. That said, the product price point is high compared to similar products and, although I am very pleased with the performance of the product, I probably will not order it again, due to price. Four stars.

Seems Overhyped, Not Sure Itâs Safe or Shelf-Stable
I ordered this to help while cycling a new 10-gallon tank. The label claims it uses enzymes to break down food and waste so your filter can process things faster, but thereâs no clear ingredient list or info about dechlorination, which is a red flag for me. Iâm still using my regular dechlorinator just to be safe. The bottle design is also a bit messy. The built-in measuring cap collects liquid when you shake it, and it tends to spill when you open it. Plus, it has an earthy smell that lingers on your hands, so I transferred it to another container. It doesnât appear to contain any live bacteria or preservatives, so I doubt itâs going to stay effective for long once opened. Based on the math, itâs about 4 pipette drops (not included) per gallon of water. I did notice the food seemed to break down faster in my cycling tank, but that could just as easily be the bladder snails.Overall, I wouldnât buy this again. I worry that it overpromises what it can do and could end up causing harm to fish if someone assumes it replaces a proper dechlorinator or bacterial starter. Itâs just not something Iâd feel comfortable trusting in my aquarium long-term.

Works Well for a Big Outdoor Pond
I finally got to use this product as I waited a long time for it to be in stock. I have a 110 gallon tub pond outside my front door and over the summer the water evaporates and needs about 20 gallons to be replaced all at once. This water conditioner has clear directions and is very easy to use, and my fish are perfectly happy and swimming in clear water now. This conditioner was used on koi, goldfish, and minnows. It didn’t affect them or the snails that live in the pond either so I think it’s a safe chlorine remover for tap water and I would most likely buy it again for my pond.

Safe for My Fish, Shrimp, Snails and Live Plants!
I have four aquariums. They all have fish, shrimp, snails and live plants. I have used this water conditioner in all four tanks during routine water changes and have had no ill effects to any of my tank inhabitants. The additive has left my water clean and clear. Per dosing instructions I only needed a small amount of this product and I expect this bottle will last me for many months. I always shake these bottles quite well before dosing so that it is sure to be mixed in case of settling or separation. I especially appreciate that the bottle lists the active ingredients so that i know what is going into my tanks. Overall, I have no complaints with this aquarium water treatment. It does the job of removing toxins from my water and doesn’t have any bad effects on my aquarium life.
