Best dog nail clippers ever.
I have 20lb beagle mix and 45lb border collie mix dogs. I bought these about 10 years ago, and it finally broke recently, after years of abuse (like, dropping it several times, stepping on it.. etc). I bought regular scissors style clipper that had best review on amazon, and I was disappointed on how flimsy and dull the blade was. It made my dogs uncomfortable and in pain from pinching their nails instead of cutting it! It hardly cut it. it’d often break/crush their nails. After stressful tryout, I immediately went back and ordered this Resco Chrome trimmer again, in hopes the product is as good as my original clipper from 10 years ago. And it sure is. These cut my dogs’ tough nails without any issue. I was worried they’d be scared of nail clipping after previous stress, but they were so calm as the clipper just cut through their nails so easily. Sharp, painless, reliable. Just like the one I used to have. Couldn’t be happier with these clippers!!

Amazing! I have used several different dog nail clippers over the past 40 years and each one left me a little less than satisfied. Not any more! My friend had these nail clippers and said they worked very well on her doberman (large, hard nails) but she also uses them on her Chi-weeny. My German Shepherd was there playing and so I tried them on her nails which are the hardest nails on a dog I have ever trimmed. Piece of cake. So I quickly ordered these on Amazon. They did not disappoint. I trimmed my dogs nails in record time, plus because they cut so well, it is much less stressful on the dog. My dog didn’t flinch. A bonus with these clippers is that you can get replacement blades. I don’t know how long the present ones will last. My friend has had hers for a couple of years and hasn’t had to replace them yet. They still cut extremely well.

Good clippers
Bought this clipper first time more than 20 yrs ago. When pin holding top & bottom handles together broke, I ordered another. Called customer service to learn if pin could be replaced, is all that was needed to keep clipper I already have usable, but they never responded. Called several times, they don’t answer, left detailed message why I was calling & left number to return my call but they never did. Clippers work great, customer service stinks!! Would’ve given 5 stars if customer service had bothered to return my call.

Perfect Nail Clip for Small Dogs
We have two small dogs that we usually take to the vet to get their nails clipped as we were not yet successful in locating the right nail clip for them. Finally we found it! This nail clip is sharp enough to cut through the nail on the 1st clip and cut the nail cleanly. I sometimes have trouble grasping instruments and tools but this nail clip is very easy to use.

Worse than the plier-style clippers for my 50 lb dog!
I used to work as a vet tech, and have clipped a lot of dog nails over the years. I chose these clippers based on the positive reviews because I have always felt the plier-type clippers caused some pain and cracking during the squeezing process. Well, these may work well on smaller dogs, but they definitely did NOT work well on my 50 lb lab mix. She’s really not that large a dog, but trying to cut her nails with these was torture for both of us! She put up with the clipping, but flinched almost every time I tried to cut, and the job took at least twice as long as usual and looked horrible. The blade would start to cut like it should, but as I squeezed, the resistance of her nails caused a gap to appear between the two surfaces, resulting in a rough, incomplete cut. It was like cutting with a pair of scissors whose blades don’t meet up. I could not get them to make a single straight, clean cut! And believe me, I tried cutting from every different angle and position I could think of. I was SURE there must be a way to use them successfully… When I was finally done (translation: gave up), she practically RAN away from me! 🙁 I won’t cut her nails again until I find a better option. Oh, and the rubber grips on the handles are useless; they’re loose and just slide around while you cut. Maybe my dog just has exceptionally hard nails, but I doubt it. Sorry, Resco: these are NOT suitable for large dogs.

feels pretty solid but not the smoothest cut
Seems pretty good. Only used once so far. Did not cut dogs giant nails as clean as they normally cut. Felt solid but left nails a bit rough and jagged. I do appreciate the metal construction of the item.

Works for us, simple and easy to use
Not much to say. The blades came plenty sharp and the tool is easy to hold. You’d think every nail trimmer would follow the same design philosophy, but I wouldn’t have purchased these if my previous nail trimmers worked well.Other nail trimmers tend to have bulky rubber grips that have an unwieldly shape, or they have a floppy spring, or a loose fit on the cutting element. These trimmers don’t suffer any of those issues.One minor complaint is that it’s very easy to cut yourself on the corners of the blade if you’re holding your pet’s foot to work on it. Working on my smaller dog, I poked myself a couple of times, and drew blood. I don’t see why those corners are so sharp, it feels like they should have been rounded out.Overall I don’t have real complaints. Decent value for the money.

I have a large German Shepherd, who does not love, but also does not hate having her toenails done. My previous nail clipper was the kind that you hold to the side and it was a real struggle to cut her nails and often could only get the very tips of them cut, but these clippers are game changer so easy to use and did all four paws quickly in one sitting
