Customers find the hay feeder to be a quality product that works well and is good value for money. They appreciate its durability, with one customer noting there’s no fraying or weakening of the string, and they like the small holes that slow down eating. The size receives mixed feedback, with some finding it large while others say it’s smaller than expected. The tie length is also mixed, with several customers noting it’s too tight.

Not like they used to be!
I loved these nets, been buying them for years and they’ve lasted! Let me explain, when they first came out they were strong, nice size and only cost $14.99! I had several but like anything time wears on them! So time came to replace, (after several years of use) well worth the money spent and saved! Bought a new one to replace an older one that was worn out, money is tight, hay is going up, price for net was $39/$29/$49 😳and I cringed. If I get 5 yrs out of it I will be happy, but it isn’t as nice as the first ones, thin! Not tight, holes stretched! We’ll I came to but another 1 $49, price jumped again! 😳😔🤔Update: Hole and I’ve only had this 1 since Mar! 🤦‍♀️😡!!!!

    Great for big eaters!
Finally, a hay net that keeps my horse busy for half a day! For a “normal” horse, it would probably last all day. But my mustang can somehow empty this net in about 3 hours. Nonetheless, it is a true slow-feed net, which slows down the eating process (to more closely resemble grazing) and keeps more of the hay off the ground.Points I like about this net:- Openings are only 1 inch, so your horse will have to work to get the hay out (which is a good thing, in my opinion.)- Strong nylon string at top for tying. I tie and untie it twice a day, and have used it for about three months with no fraying or weakening of the string.- Strong netting. Even with constant use, I haven’t seen any breakage of the netting so far.- Large size. I can fit 4 flakes of hay in it with room to spare.

    Not 40″ but still nice.
I ordered two of these hay nets in black. The description says they are 40 inches but both of mine measured about 32. The average length of the straight alfalfa bales that I feed my horses is between 45-48 inches. This bag will hold about a third of a bale if I tip the bale on end and slide the bag down over it as far as possible. I then lay the bale down, cut the twine, separate the bale and tie the bag. Though I am disappointed that the bag is not longer the quality is quite good. The holes in the mesh are 1 inch as the description says and both the bag itself and the tie rope are nice and sturdy. It is a good buy for the price and it does slow down my horses eating quite a bit. They had Tough 1 hay nets with two inch holes previously and though the nets are great they didn’t slow them down enough. If Tough 1 made a whole bale sized net with 1 inch mesh I would have bought it in a second but since I couldn’t find that these are a good option.

Not very durable, but definitely slowed him down
this definitely slowed my horse down, he would get almost frustrated with how slow he had to eat this. but then he would rip the netting and make big holes in it. so I took zip ties and closed off the holes, eventually I ran out of actual netting and it was mostly zip tied. but for the month or two before he started ripping, it worked really well!!

As durable as more expensive nets
I’ve had a few of these nets for 5yrs and they’ve been through all weather. They don’t get wet and freeze like some of the more expensive brands and are just as durable. The size is great and they are easier to fill than some others because you can fold over the top and it stays more open.

    Tough & Entertaining!
My mare isn’t an easy keeper, she overeats and has a problem keeping a healthy weight. I bought two of these nets and they are simply the best hay nets I’ve ever used. The net is strong and durable, easy to fill, tie and hang, has slowed/regulated her eating habits AND it entertains her! She swings the net around until she can get it off the hook and then stands on it when she’s done eating (and the holes are so small that I don’t worry about her getting tangled up in the net). LOVE THESE NETS!
