My squirrel buddies love these!
Highly recommend! So easy to install on my fence, i purchased three. The quality it superb! I even have some birds visiting as well. Because the bowl is like a colander, I have no issues after rain! Makes feeder maintenance quick and easy! The holder for the bowl is very strong, as when they are empty, the squirrels throw a tantrum, I swear they throw the bowls on the ground! If you use a drill for your corn cob, I suggest using the smallest bit, and only drill a 1/3 down, as my squirrels have engineering degrees, and just pulled them right off, as when i first drilled holes, they were too big. I’m not strong enough to push the cob on the the holder. I’ve not experienced any rusting on the bowl nor the holder. I wouldn’t use any small bird seed, as these are for squirrels, and the seeds would fall threw the holes. Gosh, thank you to the makers and designers of these squirrel feeders, these are super awesome!

I love this thing! I bought one when my neighbors brought home a few cats and promptly let them outside. They now hang out in my yard more than their own home and pester the squirrels who I used to feed daily by throwing peanuts into the grass. One of the cats hides under my picnic bench and waits for a squirrel to come down the tree for a peanut and then springs out and chases him back up the tree. He does this over and over until I catch him and shoo him away (he comes right back as soon as I go in the house), and it’s very frustrating for the hungry squirrel(s). I like the cats and am fine with them lounging around my yard, but I don’t want them aggravating the squirrels and preventing them from eating. I also want both the squirrels and the cats to be safe from bites (or worse) so I purchased this feeder to hang in my tree. Problem solved! The squirrels took to it immediately, and the cats have found other forms of entertainment.It’s a great design except for one feature (hence 4 stars instead of 5) – the corn spikes. Not everyone feeds corn to their squirrels – I don’t, mine won’t eat corn – and this feeder would be perfect if the spikes were removable for those who don’t need them. They’re very sharp, and I’ve seen squirrels fall out of the tree many times. If one were to land on one of the spikes, it could seriously injure or even kill them. I covered up the points by duct-taping a couple of little glass vials over them, but I worry one of the more mischievous critters might be able to pull them off.One good thing that came with the feeder was a few tiny little zip ties. I couldn’t figure out what purpose they served but fortunately didn’t throw them away because I found out the day after I put the feeder up what they were for. When I went out in the morning to refill the bowl, it was on the ground. I put it back in the holder, filled it with peanuts, and the next morning found it on the ground again. That’s when I realized what the zip-ties were for (very thoughtful of the maker of this product to include them in the package – they must really know squirrels!). I used only one tie so I could still tip the bowl over the side of the holder and empty out the shells, and fastened the bowl to the holder.Other than the spike-issue, it really is a great find. I especially like that the frame is metal and the bowl is stainless steel. It’s sturdy, well-made and has endured wind, rain, and some serious beatings from overly rambunctious raccoons and still looks like new.

I like that it has holes so rain doesn’t build up. Squirrels found it pretty quickly.
