Great way to feed
This little foraging toy is a hit with my pets! Itâs well-made and sturdy, and the wood feels safe and natural. My rat figured it out pretty quickly, but it still keeps him entertained because he has to work to get the treats out. Itâs a great way to slow down feeding and add some enrichment to his day. I also like that it can hang, so it saves space in the cage and encourages climbing. Perfect size for rats or hamsters, and super easy to refill.

Product Damaged Twice
I’d give it no stars. I love the concept, and I’m sure it would be a great toy. The first one I ordered came broken. They shipped replacement and I sent back broken one. Replacement also broken. Maybe rethink packaging like a box instead of bubble wrap envelope

This review is for “Treat Dispenser Rat Foraging Toy, Rat Enrichment Toys, Interactive Hide Treats Enrichment Toys for Rats Small Animals, Hanging Slow Feeder, Hamster Toy, Guinea Pig Accessories (M, Wood)”First, this toy comes *completely* dismantled. It seems like it could have come all put together but you have to tie all the knots in the leather strings yourself. The one advantage of that is that I could make them all different lengths to see which one my rats liked best/which length gave them a challenge without being too hard.The longest one they got the food out of quickly. Unfortunately, the others took them a bit longer – and instead of just moving the lid out of the way, they just chewed right through the leather string. Which isn’t much of a surprise; not only will any rodent chew through something like that eventually, when I saw they were leather I knew they wouldn’t last long because rats are omnivores, so leather is going to smell like food to them. But I was a little surprised that they did that almost immediately – the toy barely lasted 3 days and now it’s unusable.So basically, they seemed to have fun with it, but I don’t think it’s worth $12 for something they’ll use once and then destroy. Maybe herbivore rodents would be less likely to chew through the leather, or you could only let your pets use it when you’re directly watching them.

Surprisingly great for my rat!
When I first opened this, I wasn’t sure about it due my pet rat. It’s a little smaller than I expected. All the parts came packed separately, so there’s a minor amount of assembly required. You just have to put the leather cord through the plastic shapes, feed it through the troughs, and knot both sides. It attached to the cage wall super easily, and it’s sturdy though to support my fat rat sitting on it! I worried that the wood would not be easy to clean, but that hadn’t been the case so far. My guy figured out the puzzle pretty quick, so that’s good. I just wish I could put more than a couple pieces of food in each hole. Regardless of what I think, my rat loves it and loves the challenge in hunting for treats. I’m glad I found this!
