Not just for horses.
I bought these ice boots with the notion that they would be useful for my horses in the future. About a month later my stallion managed to kick his opposite pastern and give himself a bone bruise. I was so pleased to have an ice boot to alleviate his pain and swelling. Alas, he is opinionated and decided that the only way to respond to an ice boot on his hind leg is to try to kick it into the center of the sun. That said, I love these ice boots! Iâve used many brands on many horses and these are just as good as anything else and a very good deal. Theyâre insulated on the outside and that does seem to keep them cold longer and it stops them from weeping with condensation. The velcro is plenty strong and the elastic is firm but has a lot of room to stretch. The biggest thing I appreciate about these ice boots is how many ways Iâve been able to use them on myself. Big enough for a back, can compress an ankle, still fits around a knee. You donât need horses to want these around.

Excellent – Not just for horses!
I bought this for my horse who had swollen legs for no apparent reason (turned out to be allergies). I was cold hosing and this was supplementing that treatment. I found it worked better over a cold water bandage and a wet leg on my horse. However, I found an alternate use for this that I was thrilled with. During the time I was treating my own horse, I was unfortunately in the path of someone else’s horse that they were selling. I got knocked down and my leg suffered a nasty laceration and bruising from mid foot to knee. While I was hosing my horse’s leg, on a whim, I decided to wrap my own leg with this and it was just the best ice treatment ever! No wrapping an ice pack on and fruitlessly trying to hold it with ace bandages. This thing, with its strong velcro straps, stayed right where I put it. I could ice my leg and walk at the same time. I’ll never be without one of these ice boots in my freezer, ready to treat my horse or myself.

So easy to use
I currently have a gelding with a torn suspensory so this are vital for his rehab but Iâve used these for years to reduce swelling on horses that are prone to stocking up or after hard workouts. I wish the gel remained softer rather than freezing into giant ice cubes but the fabric is thick enough that it wonât cause burning. They will slide down eventually if your horse moves around quite a bit but I donât have any issues with them coming undone.

Love this ice boot!!!
This ice boot is GREAT!!!!Definitely beats cold hosing! The boot gets very cold in the freezer, I wrap this around my mareâs arthritic knee for 15-20 minutes and her arthritic limping improves after using this ice pack every time.I love it so much that I may purchase a second one!! It has truly made such a HUGE DIFFERENCE in my mares arthritis.

Velcro is nice and they stay put
They are everything i excpected for the money. Velcro is nice and they stay put. You get warm spots on the leg unless you wet the horses legs and boots before you put them on they work better that way and once the ice melts a little they form better to the horses legs.

Great purchase, great find.
This is a great purchase, great find. I love that I can apply it to my horse quickly and it adjusts easily to the curves of his leg. I purchased this to cool down a swollen hock area but it can also be used on his lower legs if/when needed. I apply on my horse for 20-30 minutes at a time and the velcro straps help keep it in place (no slipping). I have even used the ice boot on myself…back problems, shin splints, etc. It stays frozen for 2-3 hours and continues being cool for hours longer than that. Would totally recommend this product for anyone looking for an easy, convenient, wallet-friendly reusableâ ice boot.

Working out nicely
Took a chance on purchasing a used discounted priced one of these and I am quite happy I did. It so far seems made to be pretty durable. Freezes up nicely, remains to be flexible once frozen so wrapping around horse’s leg is easy. The 4 straps keep it snug in place and stays cool/frozen for the 10-15 minutes that I have needed to use it.

Waste of money
Only a couple of ice pods freeze. And the ones that do not stay frozen long enough.

Me cobraron el envÃo y además bloquearon dos veces más el saldo en mi tarjeta. Me parece indignante.

Bought them because my 3 year old colt. decided to a goofball in pasture and hurt himself. I donât really have a place to cold hose him tied. He was driving me nuts grooming me while I held he him to do it. Itâs very cute but 40 minutes of it is excessive and very annoying. He likes to rub and lick people, if asked to stand still for a long period of time.Anyway these are great I can tie him for 20/30 minutes do both his legs, and brush him out ( I bought 2). They are still frozen solid after 30 minutes but i live in a colder climate.Yes they freeze into hard little individual ice cubes. If you freeze them rolled up they take much longer to freeze completely. I just fold them in half a put them in my deep freezer. Hair and dirt in my freezer (another complaint I read)â¦. Very simple I rinse them off before putting them back into my deep freezer. No they do not freeze solid if they are a bit wet. They still wrap just fine around my horseâs legs. They do the job very well, Iâm very happy I bought them

The boots sent to me have red straps and not black as pictured, so they don’t match the ones I already have. But otherwise are fine.
