My chihuahuaâs favorite
I have chihuahua who take picky to a new level. Iâve had some who were ârealâ dogs and ate anything that looked interesting. Not these two. About 10 years ago one developed a severe issue from which he almost died. I learned more about dog nutrition than anyone wants to know. But he lived well for another several years. Basically I learned to make their food. Weâve tried all the ones available that are âfreshâ- theyâll starve first- thank you. Canned food can become a petrified lump. Wetting dry food can guarantee it will be ignored or shoved out onto the floor where it turns into cement on the floor. Ok, back to cooking. Iâm single, love to cook but itâs no fun for one. Not wild about âtv dinnersâ- well, maybe 1 or 2. Now Iâve gotten lots of nutritional help from their vets but still you always wonder if theyâre getting everything they need. So, the suggestion was their home cooked food with the dry on the side. I found this brand about 3 years ago and rotate through all available flavors. That chi who almost died?? They think he developed an allergy to his food. The one he got every day. That was the first suggestion, to change up ingredients as long as they seemed to tolerate their food. This review is actually about all the available flavors. I order the small bags and mix them together. Mine get a meat, 1-2 vegetables, a starch- they like potatoes and the different dried type beans. They might eat the broccoli first since it generally has a little cheese. But theyâre going for the kibble between broccoli bites. Then the meat. Almost every meal is a bite of meat, a piece of kibble, back to the meat, etc. Iâve seen them leave part of the steak (nice steak, not shoe leather) and munch on the kibble. Then go clean off their plate a bit later. They turn up their noses at dog vitamins so I end up passing those along to someone with a real dog. If I sprinkle vitamins on their food they wonât eat the food. I called the company to ask questions and spoke with a really nice lady willing to answer all my questions. My kids had their annual health visit in November and got very positive reviews. Very healthy, thick shiny coat, clear skin, active and alert. My only complaint is the size packaging. Since mine go through 1-1.5lbs per month and I mix the flavors, the larger bags donât work for me. Iâm hoping theyâre able to offer in between sizing at some point. In the meantime Iâll continue to rotate through and mix together the different flavors. Opening the bags the kibble always looks and smells nice. Iâve never had a moth spontaneously erupt from this brand like Iâve had from other brands in the past. My vet feels theyâre getting adequate nutrition at this time. My chiâs are 10 and 11.5 and very healthy.

Highly recommended dog food for all ages
We are very particular about our dog’s diet. We have a senior dog and a young pup with food sensitivity, and they love this food, and it’s great on their stomach and coats. Highly recommended, great ingredients.

Great until they ran out of stock and sent wrong item.
This dog food was the only kind our dog could eat, due to many allergies. It was great until they ran out of stock and started delivering us the wrong kind. We donât catch it at first and our poor pup was miserable. The wrong item was sent twice, leaving us to scramble to find another kind of food our dog can have. Until then, itâs homemade food. Very disappointed that they ran out of stock.

Best healthy dog food on the market
My older dog had some serious stomach issues, I switched her to this dog food and at the same time switched my young dog to this dog food. Her stomach issues cleared up and sheâs doing very well. Both dogs like it and itâs the only dog food I found thatâs made in USA but also completely sourced in USA. So many dog foods are made in the USA but when you read the small print it will say ingredients are âvariousâ sources which, although itâs clever marketing, itâs ambiguous. This dog food – so far – is not ambiguous and for that reason Iâll keep supporting them by buying this excellent dog food!!
