This is a nice temperature controller, and is working well.
The VIVOSUN 1500W Digital Temperature Controller has good specifications and is easy to program. I am using it to control a 1300 watt space heater. It has been running for over a week, turning the space heater on and off several times a day, without any trouble. Of course, the best test will be to see how well it stands up to long term use. But for now I am fully satisfied with this controller and would recommend it without hesitation.

Died after 30 days of use
Fairly easy set up and worked perfectly in my greenhouse to turn on the heat when it got cold. However, one day it just did not work any more after about 30 days being installed on a 12 amp heater. I still count myself lucky however because it was discovered on a mild morning where the temp was in the 40’s. The week earlier it was in the teens and 20’s we would have lost all our plants if it had died then. I would not purchase again based on the chance that we could have lost all our plants in the greenhouse.

Solid climate controller
I’ve been looking a long time for a cheaper option than the typical climate controllers you see for hundreds of dollars. Looks like I finally found it! You plug your heating and cooling equipment into the outlets, set your temperature parameters, and you’re set! Couldn’t be more simple. You can even set the temp differential you want it to turn things on and off by. For example you don’t want your cooling equipment to turn on until it’s 5 degrees above your desired temperature or 7 degrees above, etc. And as awesome as this thing is, it’s actually pretty low tech so less opportunity for it to fail. I’ve always loved the quality of Vivosun products and am sure this will go the distance.

performs as promissed
A nice heavy duty looking thermostat that I connected to my cabinet sauna to control the heater. The controller also can control cooling systems and fans.I quickly learned that though my sauna can not reach the recommended temperature for therapuetic results.

Failed after running 1500W. Fire Hazard
This controller contains a small fuse that will burn up if you run too close to the rated load for an extended period (like if a heater runs for a while on a cold night). The fuse is not replaceable and can pose a fire hazard when it fails. Such a fuse should not have been used in this product. This is a manufacturing defect. Unfortunately, because it is unable to perform as advertised without possibly catching fire, i cannot recommend anyone buy this product.

Pretty simple setup, not complicated. You don’t have to be a computer programmer to figure it out.
Hold set for 3 seconds, set the temperature you want it to come at, hold set for three more seconds. Done. There are other options you can control like the range from when it comes on and goes back off, but for the most part not needed, it’s default to operate at a 3 degree F range. Then just plug in to the heater side if you need to heat things and the cooling side if you need to cool things. If you can’t figure that one as someone who’s “good with computers” I’d question your definition of the word “good”

works when purchased with the heater
I purchased this thermostat for my seed room heater seperately and purchased the heater and thermostat sold together as a set, and the set works seamlessly. When I purchased both the thermostat and heater seperately, it blew out the heater and it didnt work anymore. They sent a new heater to replace it with no issue what so ever and had great customer service. The set purchased together works perfectly. Take away is buy the heater that comes with the thermostat together. They’ve been tested together, and works well (and accurately) without issue, even when I moved it out to the greenhouse down to 30*f. Perfect. I also double covered plants with remay. I get about 6 degrees saving grace just with the remay. The heater set up makes me feel less worried. I set the thermostat to kick on at 30, and it only kicked in a couple times, and plants are stronger and conditioned to begin hardening off earlier. GOOD set up for those who dont have heated seed rooms or heated greenhouses. Much less expensive than close to the same unit at a greenhouse store for 3x the price.

Hi/low Differential settings(set an actual window)
I use to control a window portal fan. when the room is too hot, differential kicks in on my AC Infinity Fan Controller, also this turns on fan. Fan runs until space is cooled. If temp drops too low, my AC Infinity fan sensor turns on fan… Imagine 75 degree setting with window built into fan controll of 1.1 degrees. it reads 76 and turns a cold stream into a small area. the AC fan control exhausts to room until room is cool. this inherintly shuts down fan… OMG:)
