I liked this kit
I bought this kit after our town replaced a section of the water main and warned residents that chlorine levels might be temporarily elevated. The water mostly smells strongly of bleach, and I wanted to know how bad it was before letting my kids drink from the tap or filling up our dogâs water bowl. I like this kit because it looked a lot more precise than the basic pool strips. The app is simple, just dip, wait 30 seconds and scan. It gave me a clear number in ppm for both free chlorine and total chlorine, not just a vague color. My experience was that the chlorine levels were way higher than normal, over 4 ppm when the EPA limit is 4. If youâre dealing with any kind of municipal water work, or you just want to know if your tap water is over chlorinated, this is a great tool. Way more helpful than pool tests, and the app actually makes it simple.

Very Easy to use!!
I bought this after I read that older brass faucets and solder joints can leach lead into drinking water, especially if you havent used the tap for a few hours. We live in a house built in the late 80s and had been getting that metallic taste first thing in the morning, not every day, but often enough to be concerning. Iâve used lead test strips before, but they were either vague or the kind you mail in and wait forever. I ran a test after the water had been sitting in the pipes overnight, and again after flushing for a few minutes. The app picked up elevated lead levels on the first test, like right above 15 ppb, but after letting it run for afew minutes, the second test came back clear. Super helpful to actually see the numbers rather than just guessing from a color square. If youre trying to figure out whether you need to replace faucet or just flush your system regularly, this is 100% worth it. It saved me from making unnecessary plumbing purchase and things.

Had problems with first test that failed. I reported the finding to developer/owner. Got a quick response thanking me for my input. Got second email from them stating I should try again. Waited a few days and found a completely new updated app (Apple). Oh so simple to use. Wow what a difference compared to my first try. The output is filled with all kinds of information.Our water facility here in Seminole County, FL claims they stopped putting fluoride in the water back in April of 2025. That was my main reason for doing this testing. Its Average is 4 Milligrams per Liter.Now it’s on to the pool. I can compare outcome to my current pool setting done manually.Happy, happy. Those that poo poo’d need to delete and get a new app download.I used a black notebook cover for background. Had to do manual, which auto timed out, to take the picture.

Buy extra strips
I own a pool cleaning company “Rapid Response Pool Care” in Ocala Fl. These work great to be able to show the customer the before and after of their chemical balance. My only complaint is I wish the replacement strips were a little cheaper.

Absolutely brilliant! The Droplytix water test kit is really helpful. The app takes all the guesswork out of the process by providing exact digital results for 20 parameters in just minutes. Amazingly simple for whatever I need, drinking water to the hot tub. A necessity for all health conscious homemakers! You can see in the snapshot there’s a lot of hardness and that’s logical because as you may know, water gets calcified if it stays too long on tiles and surfaces and also high sulfate than normal (I searched that up and I think it causes a laxative effect which why I almost always go to the bathroom after drinking this water).

I bought this up because Iâve always been a little suspicious of my parent’s tap water. They live in a rental house built in the 70s and sometimes the water has a faint metallic taste, especially from the kitchen sink.. The first strip I used actually showed copper levels a bit higher than expected, which made sense because the plumbing hasnât been updated in forever. I tested the bathroom sink too and the numbers were normal there.. The app is straightforward took maybe a minute. It also logs all my results so I can keep track over time. I will be testing once every couple of weeks so Ill update the review.

Iâve been testing my tap and aquarium water for years, and honestly, Iâve always hated the process. Those little color charts you get with test stripe are Impossible. Half the time Iâd be squinting under a kitchen light trying to figure out if the pad was âkinda yellow-greenâ or âslightly greenish-yellow.â Never felt confident in the results, especially when dealing with chlorine levels for my fish tank. Got this kit and wow, this is exactly how water testing should work. You dip the strip, wait for the app timer, and it scans everything for you. No guesswork. The app told me my chlorine was a bit high and gave specific advice about letting water sit before using it in the tank. Even better thar it tracks my results from past so I can see trens of changes. Highly recommend if youâre tired of interpreting tiny color squares and want direction to what to do as well.
