Repta-Sun Incandescent Lighting For Basking Animals. Repta-Sun Incandescent light bulbs provide the radiant heat (infrared light) that reptiles need. Reptiles are ectothermic and depend on their environmental temperature to regulate their core body temperature. If a reptile is not provided an appropriate environmental temperature range (ETR), it may be predisposed to chronic infections. Because ETRs vary from species to species, ask your pet professional or review available literature for guidance in determining the appropriate ETR for your pet. A Fluker’s thermometer can be used to monitor temperature within the reptile’s environment. Reptile behavior is directly tied to photoperiiod (light cycle), so it is important to provide appropriate intervals o flight and darkness. Fluker’s recommenda a 12-hour day/ 12-hour night light cycle. A Fluker’s Daytime bulb should be used during the daytime cycle.

Customers say

Customers give positive feedback about the nightlight’s heat output, with one noting it heats up quickly. However, the brightness and functionality receive mixed reviews – while some enjoy the small amount of light, others find it dim, and some report it doesn’t work at all. Moreover, the quality and value for money are also mixed, with some praising the bulbs while others complain about poor quality control and not being worth the price. Additionally, the burnout rate is concerning, with multiple customers reporting that their bulbs only lasted one month.

    Worst nighttime bulb for lizards!
I’ll give this bulb a 1 star since it was delivered quickly. However, it stayed lit less than 12 hours for my anoli lizards the first night after I received it. I never had a bulb burn out this fast. My daytime bulb is still going strong. I’m deeply disappointed with the quality of this bulb. Now I must purchase another nighttime blue bulb. Don’t waste your time or money on this particular bulb.

They do the job, but break sooner rather than later.
they keep my hermit crabs happy as far as i can tell. But each time i order them they appear to last less and less.

    Just the right temperature
I was having issues keeping my gecko tank at the right temp for my little girl. The red lamp I was using was way too hot and she was spending most of her time hiding from it. A friend suggested I switch to this one, and I’m glad I did, and so is my lizard baby. She much more active and seems all around happy basking in the warm purple glow of this bulb. It’s a very affordable option to provide warmth and seems to be holding up well.

The quality and price of these bulbs just can’t be beat…WHEN they actually work when I receive them.
I’m writing this review because I hope someone from the company will read it and test the bulb I purchased before shipping it to me. As another person wrote in their review, these are really hit or miss. I rescue garter snakes, and they cannot take the higher temp bulbs like bigger snakes can. Also, depending on the subspecies and the climate in the area of original habitat for garters in the wild, each subspecies prefers different temperatures in their enclosures. I have one snake who only likes blue or black lights and can only handle a low amount of heat. I couldn’t find black or blue lights that are 25 watts in other brands, and a friend turned me on to Fluker’s. When they are shipped to me in working condition, you just can’t beat the quality and the price of Flukers. The problem is, several times I have ordered these from Amazon, and when they arrive, they do not work. One time I ordered 4 bulbs, and 3 of them did not work when I got them. It’s very frustrating because most of the pet stores around here do not carry 25 watt Fluker bulbs (or any other brand of bulbs in 25 watts) It’s also vital that I have them for my albino babies. So please, Amazon, start checking on the people who are supposed to be checking that products are in working order before shipping them…because they are great bulbs and I am a Prime member who basically buys everything from your site! Thank You.
