Bright, adjustable, and perfect for my little indoor pond!
This light works amazing for my planted tank. Itâs super bright, the colors look vibrant, and my plants are growing beautifully. Good Light, But You You’ll Despise the Controls
Another review stated that the light will not come on with a timer, and this is incorrect. You can use this light with a third-party, regular light timer and this light will turn off and on, retaining the setting it was previously on.The reason I got this light is because my prior light came in a kit and needed to have a button pushed to come on with a timer. This light fixed that problem for me.I’d like to set the program using the remote, but it’s far too cumbersome. You will not like the configuration process. Further, if the remote has the batteries replace, I believe you lose the config.The light quality is far superior to the basic LEDs I had. Between the quality of the light, my basic needs that this light puts out, and the sale price I purchased at, it’s worth it to me.If this sounds like you, it’d be worth short-listing this one, but if you want to set up a more complex schedule, be prepared for some counter-intuitive, and often frustrating effort to set up.**EDIT/UPDATE** After having this light running for a few days, I can say that it runs extremely cool despite my expectations. The unit has a fan which runs when certain modes are at 100%. The fan stops whirring around 70%, but even with the light at 100% brightness, the fan is consistent and quiet. It’s almost as if it’s unnecessary, but definitely nice to know it’s there. Still recommend this light if what I describe fits your use case.

Remote is terrible
Ok, so the light is great. However, the remote is garbage. After reading Q&A the sensor for the remote is located in the power supply. I don’t know who in their design department thought that was a good idea. They should know that almost everyone is going to have this plugged in inside of a tank stand or behind it. This renders it effectively useless. So now you either have to set your settings and the use a separate timer or smart plug which is beyond dumb. For the price this should be a bare minimum function that is easily provided by any other manufacture.

Is this really for freshwater?
I’ve used this product for three months. I feel like I’ve given it a good try. But the light is too blue. I even double checked to make sure I wasn’t sent the saltwater version by mistake. The main problem is that I can’t run the light for more than 4 hrs on a timer without outrageous algae growth. And even then, the reds don’t pop and plants grow kinda scraggly. I would continue to think I was the problem, but I purchased this light to replace the Hygger 24/7 light because I thought it was prettier. Plants grew just fine on that light and I’m thinking about switching back.Edit: As of 11/19, I took down this little 3 gallon and put the light on a terrestrial plant. Wouldn’t ya know that the on/off switch no longer works. Very frustrating.

I was sent a used lampâ¦donât they have to give you a discounted price for a used product? Everything was taken out of the packages and just thrown into the box. So thatâs kind of annoying. But overall itâs a decent light.Edited to add: despite being sent a clearly used productâ¦this light is GOOD. I legit admire it every time I walk by my betta tank. It gives such good shadows and shimmer effects to the tank. I am loving it SO much more than the Fluval light I had been using in it. My plants are also doing much better now that Iâve switched over to this. I donât have easy low tech plants either. The Amazon sword âroseâ plants, cardinalis rose, bacopa dark purple and Anubias frazeri and Anubias pinto (more like a variegated plant) all look better than they ever have. I would definitely recommend this light for all planted tanks, especially nano tanks. I have this on my Fluval spec V tank (5 gal.)

Love the amount of control on this
I wanted to get a full spectrum light for a 5gal orchidarium, but did not want a purple grow light. Because orchids can be rather particular about lighting, I wanted some control over it. This seemed to be an intriguing option between controlling intensity and having a timer.I am pretty pleased with the light. Even at a pretty low intensity (40%), it is plenty for my little tank. The tank looks good under it, and the orchids seem to be doing well with it.The only downside seems to be that the internal timer is a little off and it can drift. Not the biggest deal – just turn off the light with the remote, turn on, and reset the timing schedule.Overall, I’d definitely recommend this. I’m guessing it’d work wonderfully for a little planted tank.
