Sponge Filter
How Does It Work?
Sponge filter uses bubbles of air from an external air pump, or an integral water pump to draw water through the sponge.
What Maintenance Does It Require?
The sponge need to be rinsed about every 2 to 4 weeks. It’s helpful to wash the sponge gently with water from the fish tank instead of tap water.
It is good to replace the sponge after 3 to 6 months’ usage as the holes of sponge is gradually clogged by the tiny debris.

Easy to clean
Constructed with detachable parts allows you to easily take it apart for cleaning or replacement.
Air Powered
The air chamber produces tiny bubbles which increase the oxygen solubility of water. Air Pump Not Included.
Clean with tank water
Helpful to wash the sponge gently with water from the fish tank instead of tap water.
To silence the filter, you can use the provided small air tube to connect the filter and the control valve. The other end of the control valve should be connected to your air pump with a standard 3/16” air tube. Note that the standard 3/16” air tube and air pump are not included.
IMPORTANT: Our tube can’t be connected directly to your air pump as the outlet size of your air pump may be incompatible with this air tube.

Easy to set up & clean: you can use the mini airline tubing we provided for low noise and small bubble; just link the filter and one side of control valve using the mini airline tubing and link the other side of the valve to air pump using standard tubing. If want big bubble, you can just use the normal 3/16” airling tubing which we did not provide

Great little filter!!
Works perfectly in my 3 gallon tank! I planned to use this for a nano shrimp tank, but one of my fishes had a baby so it’s now their home for a bit ðThis filter is perfect! The valve it came with works perfectly to make the bubbling a bit slower (or faster, lol). It’s very quiet (the hum you hear in the video is my old air pump, not the filter itself). It’s the perfect size for the baby fish (or the intended shrimp!) and easily takes apart for cleaning. It took a few minutes to get it to stay put, it kinda floated a bit but once I got the gravel and water with it, it stays down real good.If you have a small tank, this is perfect for it!

Bought this for a very tiny planted fishbowl tank years ago and it’s worked perfectly! Love my little sponge filter, it’s super small and perfect for my needs!

To small for 20 gallon
I donât like it itâs to small, when itâs running the bubbles that it creates are big and mostly it pushes the water instead of filtering the water through the sponge, and when cleaning it I feel like it does not hold enough of the good bacteria the air knob that was included, also did not work for me, itâs super loud. I have a 20 gallon and thought it would be perfect but I rather go with a bigger one, the material of the sponge seems better than others that Iâve purchased. It gets a four because itâs my mistake for getting such a small one but, Idid not want something to big but canât complain for 5 bucks tho.

Great small filter, but weird tubing.
Great size for 1 or 2 gallon tank, however the airline hose it comes with is a weird size, smaller than normal airline tubing. It has removable adapters at the ends to connect to standard airpump outlets.

Great buy for a small tank!
So far so good. I had this same filter but for a 120gal tank and they keep the tanks so clean. So before I has this mini bubble filter my beta fishes would not stay alive so what I did was added this filter ran it in the tank for 4 days then added the fish. He has been alive and swimming since. ð¯ must buy for small tanks. I would love to be a vine customer to review more products!

Faulty Control Valves
The control valves I got for some reason dont produce any air. I tried with the mini tubing and the plastic tips that they connect to came off and donât stay on properly. I ended up changing the tubing to a larger size and adjusted the valve to the max and still no air got through. Other than that the filter itself works fine when the control valve is out of the equation.

Great value TINY sponge filters
Absolutely dirt cheap, high quality, TINY filters. I have them in jars for breeding and keeping plants. I even order another set of three. The you do have to use the included connectors to fit standard tubing to the small gauge air tubing but they work fine. They are well weighted at the bottom so they do not float up like some sponge filters. If you need a set of sponge filters for many small tanks, I do not think you can do better for the price.
