With the OptiBright+ LED Light the possibilities are endless! The slim fixture includes bright white LEDs that are equivalent to 6,500K illumination, blue Moon Glows for nighttime viewing and RGB LEDs for enhanced colors. By far, you won’t find a more beautiful and flattering aquarium light bar on the market. This item fits perfectly and seems plenty durable, and even though the price is a bit intimidating, it’s well worth the money, since with an aquarium, you’re paying for beauty already.The Optibright Plus contains White, Blue, and RGB (Red-Green-Blue) LED’s, and all three systems can be independently turned on and off or adjusted for brightness, while the RGB’s have a total of ten colors to choose from (RGB can also be set to periodically cycle the entire color palette).After setting the built-in clock on the remote, all three light systems can also be independently programmed to automatically turn on and off at any desired time, to mix and match light effects throughout the day and night (to keep a light on continuously, simply set the ON/OFF timer to the same time). All three light systems can be turned on and off at will without affecting the programmed cycles.So far the appearance is beautiful and makes every color in the tank pop right out.However, I will be here to post a follow-up review later down the road to make sure we know this product stands the test of time. As is, this was one of the most quality buys for an aquarium I could find.

Great light. Allows you to pick the right blend of colors and the right intensity of colors and also allows you to turn on and off daylight and moon lights separately. As well as the rgb lights The sunrise and sunset feature is really cool and I’m sure is much easier on the fish. It’s not a super bright light if your looking to grow plants but it will keep plants alive and since it’s not too bright I haven’t had algae issues. It’s a really good light to show off color of fish and the tank. I have photos of full daylight, when the rgb’s are in sunset mode and just moonlight. I will try to get pictures of the daylight sunset mode to add as well cause it looks really nice as it progresses

Arrived slightly faulty but returning it was worthwhile
When I was deciding which light to get this one kept popping up as the best one to get except that like half of them always arrived defective. Mine arrived defective but I sent it back and it’s the best light I could imagine. I love the stepping down feature. I have tetras so I think the effect really keeps them feeling a bit safer than just full on and full off. The light is sturdy and the remote is sturdy, it feels like a good piece of technology. My plants are growing nicely, with this. Mine was faulty in that the plug didnt quite connect fully where the transforming plugs into the light’s chord, so it would turn on and off if bumped at all. Returning it went perfectly fine

Nice light. Timer eventually craps out
worry free timer with a nice gentle on and off. Program the blues to stay on a little later for a moonlight effect and its icing on the cake. Downside, when the power goes off you need to run through your settings (takes 30 seconds) otherwise your timer is set back to zero and they will turn off and on at the wrong times.UPDATE: Just like some of the other reviews, I’ve used this light for about 6 months now no problems with the lights but the timer is out of whack so I’ve lost that nice sunrise and sunset effect.My plants have done well using the light and dosing with excel. Its 24 inches to the bottom. However not enough par to keep the dhg alive but I expected that.I keep the lights on for about 10 hours a day. Using the timer on my surge protector.Update 4/22/18 had this around a year now. The internal timer is going nuts. Aqueon tech support swears if i just unplug it for 30 seconds it will be fixed. Correct. For about 24 hours It is and then It goes nuts again. Lol It sits ontop glass so its never been wet. It will cycle a whole day in about 12 hours now… when it isn’t cycling itself it dims.

Outstanding light – with just one critique
I love this light and wished I had purchased one much sooner. When researching, I did see where customers had some quality issues down the road, but was met with outstanding customer service. I can vouch for this myself as I have also experienced their great customer service. And that was with a question about settings. The timer feature (sunrise / sunset simulation) is very cool. My only critique is this; the light allows you to set the intensity of brightness you’d like, but it does not hold your settings when the timer is used. It returns to the brightest setting. Not a huge deal, but if they have the capability to select the intensity you want, logic states that you’d want that setting all the time. Again, an outstanding light and would highly recommend it.

Great Light – The blue light feature is Not the Best for Glofish or making things flouresce!
Don’t get me wrong, its a great light. Being able to switch colors was what I was looking for. I wish the colors were as bright as the white light though, which seems almost blinding in comparison to the color lights. Also, I was expecting the blue light to work like GloFish lights – making flourescent things flouresce, which it doesn’t… it just turns the water and object blue. I had very specific expectations though, that I’m unsure others would share. If you are looking for a color changing light, this definitely does the trick. The remote is awesome and the design is sleek and beautiful. I love that it changes sizes to accommodate tanks within the 18-24″ range (or whatever it was).

Great light easy to set up great light from white leds equivellent to 6500K did some investigating! Timer system great i have running with other aqueon led system this is a 30-36 size i would highly recommend but remember your tank size for larger tanks a second would help if growing plants I grow crypts amazons giant vallis java fern frogbit java moss I also use co2 and nutrients for plants I have been using a good liquid plant food and tablets I also add catappa leaves to water adds tannins and are good for the fish and any shrimp love them plus fish they also add natural nutrients to water
