Why did you pick this product vs others?:I was looking for a birdfeeder that was large capacity, but not humongous. This birdfeeder is perfect. Itâs well built and looks attractive hanging up on my deck. Itâs great for the small little birds. They sit very nicely on the purchase that surround the bird feeder. Super easy to add seed. Only those adorable small birdies use this feeder. No doves. Theyâre too big.

The feeder is attractive, but I was a little disappointed in the color of the window frames. In the picture, they appeared to be white, but in actuality, it is a pinkish beige and there is little difference between the main parts of the feeder and the windows. I bought it because it looked like a small version of my own windows, but the feeder I got doesnât look like that.One reviewer mentioned that the drain holes caused the tray to hold water. They must have addressed that issue because mine are large enough and are well placed. As for being squirrel free, good luck with that!

Pretty & well built, but beware the lack of drainage and instability
This is a well constructed bird feeder, and it looks really nice, but, the drainage is abysmal, and so is the stability.First, the drainage: If you get rain and this is not under a roof or other sort of rain cover (say you hang it in a tree, like I did), the feeder will fill with water, and if not immediately cleaned out, the food will start to rot/mold. If you live in a dry place where it rarely rains, like the desert, this feeder will probably do as it’s shipped to you. If you live in a climate that gets regular rain like I do, you’ll need either need to place it on a porch or under some other type of waterproof cover, or, drill out and enlarge the 4 wholly inadequate drain holes that are placed in the corners, and add a lot more along the length of the outside, too (the corners aren’t the low spots, and the feed can block up the holes). I found I had to drill another 3 along each side (12 total) to keep the feeder from immediately filling up water, and even then, the feed can cap the holes and stay wet (but at least there wasn’t 3/4″+ of standing water each time it rained anymore).Second, the stability: Little light finches and sparrows are fine on this feeder, but if you get cardinals, or jays or grackles or doves or other larger birds, it will lilt wildly with their weight, and because it’s hung with a single wire, it will start to spin as well, and so those birds tend avoid it (a few of the smarter ones will half land and quickly knock a bunch of seeds to the ground with their beaks/wings, then jump to the ground and eat it, but most just give up). If you want to keep larger birds out off your feeders, this’ll do it. But if you want to feed them as well, you’ll be better off with another feeder.

Poorly made roof fit makes clanging noise
If the feeder is sitting on a table, the roof lies flat on the little house. When you hang it up from its wire, the roof is loose and makes a loud clanging sound in the slightest breeze, also allowing rain to come in at the sides whoch will ruin the seeds. Very light weight and cheaply built. I’ve used all kinds of feeders for 30 years and I’m disappointed in this one. I’m not sure if I will be able to use it and will probably throw it away.

The Birds Love It, So Do I!
Absolutely excellent! Take it out of the box, put some seed in it (I bought some âno messâ-a little more expensive but the birds donât have to crack a lot of shells and leave a mess), and hang it. Nice construction, nice metal material-no hokey gimmicks. In a few days the birds found it. I canât believe the array of birds we have in our urban neighborhood! No hassle to fill, no hassle to clean.
