With this stick horse halter DIY kit you get all the materials you need to make head collars, rope halters and lead ropes for your Hobby Horse! The bag webbing and ropes are made from polypropylene, our favorite material for making Hobby Horse accessories. You can easily singe the ends of the rope or webbing with a lighter and thus protect them from fraying. The material is also less prone to dirt. The colors of the ropes and webbings match perfectly so you can create stylish looks by embellishing the nosebands of the halters by braiding them with the rope, or by making beautiful matching lead ropes or reins.

The included o-rings and snap hooks are sufficient for two head collars made from bag webbing and two short leads. You can also make just one head collar and then several lead ropes and reins. Depending on how the material is used and on how big your stick horse is, you can also create one to three rope halters from the ropes.

Included in the stick pony halter DIY kit:

– 2x 80 inch (2 m) bag webbing, width 3/8 inch (1.5 cm), 100% polypropylene (PP)

– 3x 197 inch (5 m) rope, diameter 5/32 inch (4 mm), 100% polypropylene (PP)

– 10x o-rings with inner diameter of 1 inch (2.5 cm), outer diameter of 1 1/4 inch (3.3 cm), thickness 1/8 inch (4 mm), made of iron with nickel-free coating

– 5x snap hooks with round eye, height 1 3/5 inch (4 cm), maximum inner width of the eye 5/8 inch (1 cm), made of zinc alloy with nickel-free coating

– 5x snap hooks with D-shaped eye, height 1 5/8 inch (4.2 cm), eye width 3/8 inch (1.5 cm), made of zinc alloy with nickel-free coating

– PDF file with DIY instructions for making halters and leads are included as a download, link is printed on the product packaging.

Makes a nice Bridle, but you will need a few things…
This item arrived new and in good condition. The materials are high quality. At first, this seemed like a rather difficult DIY project. You will need to download and print the instructions as the instructions have templates for you to cut out. The instructions are 19 pages. You will also need a leather punch and rivets. A pack of rivets can be purchased from a craft store for about a $1. You will also need some sharp scissors, a ruler and a colored pen/chalk to mark the black leather. When completed, this bridle with reins came out very well and fits a hobby horse perfect. The leather is high quality and the metal (silver) looks very good. There is even enough material left to make a martingale! I would recommend this product, however, be prepared to get a few things.

    Great kit, but plan ahead!
This isn’t a kit for specific projects in specific colors, so much as a pick your own tack adventure, where you get to pick and choose what you like best from the instructions and supplies. Because of that, I think it’s really important to carefully plan what you’re going to make, making sure you have enough supplies. The instructions say that, too (p. 2).Just as an example, I wanted to prioritize making reins before anything else, and I want a webbing halter that will show up on a brown horse. This meant there was really no choice for what to do with each color. If I had used the blue to make reins, there wouldn’t have been enough for a blue halter. In other words, there’s not enough webbing to make a color-matched set of halter and reins. That led to me knowing the reins I made had to be brown (shown in photo).I really like the rope quality. The webbing quality is fine, but I’m used to a thicker cotton webbing from sewing. I can understand the use of polypropylene for being able to seal it from fraying with a flame, and also keeping it looking more like the paracord. I like the metal hardware, and the snap hooks are a great fit to the webbing. Sewing one on is easier than I expected with the advice in the instructions. While it’s still a five star kit for me, there are a couple of things that I wish were different. One is that the instructions aren’t included, but are a separate download. I really would have preferred them being provided in print in the set.Second, the instructions for reins are very minimal (p. 19). I had to look elsewhere in order to find out what would be a good length for them.Despite these two things, I think this is a really neat craft kit! It’s also fun having a coordinated color scheme.

kullaloo DIY Hobby Horse Bridle Kit
This bridle kit is adorable and has serious crafty charm, but it’s not quite beginner-friendly. I got it thinking it would be a fun weekend project, and while the instructions were clear enough, the actual assembly took longer than expected. The faux leather pieces are pre-cut, which helps, but stitching them together neatly requires patience and a steady hand. The final product looks great—definitely Instagram-worthy—and it fits well on a standard hobby horse head. I appreciated the attention to detail, like the little metal buckles and decorative accents. It’s a cute gift idea for kids or horse lovers, especially if they enjoy DIY crafts.Where it loses points is in the execution. Some of the holes didn’t line up perfectly, and I had to re-punch a few to make it work. Also, the thread included wasn’t the strongest, so I swapped it out for my own. If you’re crafty and have some experience with leatherwork, you’ll probably enjoy it. But if you’re new to DIY kits, this might feel more frustrating than fun.

A nice little kit for making your own halters. Just wish they had printed instructions
I’ll split this review up between the pros and the cons:Pros:- Its a nice little kit! The materials included are adequate for their price. I was able to make a nice halter and another rope halter.- The linked instructions are pretty straightforward once you download them. Another reviewer noted the lack of instructions but they’re printed directly on the bag as a QR code.Cons:- Its not exactly self-contained, as you’ll still need tools like sewing needles and thread. Clips help too with keeping the stuff together.- I really dislike solely relying on downloading a PDF for instructions. Links break all the time, its easier for a child to look at pictures on included pictures, and honestly it feels like the only reason they didnt include printed instructions was to save a negligible amount of money. Most products give you both, then at least you have a paper version to fall back to.Ultimately, the cheaping out on printed instructions irked me enough to knock off a star. Besides that, the rest of the kit is a great value! I recommend it

    Quality items
Everything you need for this project and quality made parts and materials. One of the ropes appears to be the size of a standard paracord, but the other two are close to double the girth. So these are higher quality than I expected. The O rings are solid and the two different kinds of clips do the job. The webbing is also solid and durable.

    Cute but no instructions
Got this to make with my teen and toddler daughters. The colors are cute, and I really like the idea. But it clearly stated this came with instructions. And it does not have any. Not even a website link to the. Highly disappointing, considering this is supposed to be for children. And the price point was very high as well, especially with zero instructions in it. No way a child would be able to use this let alone an adult without searching for “how to videos”.

    Very cute craft kit
This craft kit comes with everything you need to accessorize your stick pony (or any other craft for that matter) it comes with a variety of loops and hooks with varying widths to match the straps and cords. There’s a good amount of each lace that allows for plenty of creativity and experimentation for different looks. Each item in the kit feels durable and looks lovely with the bright colors.
