Debugged and Going Great!
I recently purchased the Inkbirdâs IBS-TH1. This Bluetooth Smart Sensor Data logger is the best Thermo/Hygrometer I have used. Connected to my phone with an app with no problems. I can monitor the temperature and Humidity from anywhere. When I go on trips I can keep an eye on my babies or Get notifications if my set parameters are not in range and see how long itâs been that way. Battery comes with it so you are all set to go from the time you get it and the app downloaded. This model comes with a built in magnet as well and all I needed to do was mount a small metal plate in my glass terrarium. Iâm sure you could use an putter magnet as well.If you want to know what your readings are at all times and see your fluctuations to get them all perfect, this sensor will help you do just that with all the convenience of keeping the data on your phone. Many adjustable features and you can link more then one and name them accordingly. These product is worth the tech thatâs in it.

Better than I expected!
I thought this thing wasnât going to work but it does! I tested out itâs accuracy with a salt test and compared it to others. It was off in humidity by only like 2%. But what is great is that you can easily calibrate it on your phone if that were to ever happen! But I never had to calibrate temperature, it always matched my temperature gun and other readers.I have been using this for a couple of weeks and so far no issues with battery life. I forgot to mention I have been using mine to figure out my temp and humidity on one side of one of my skink enclosures. And by having the daily and weekly data, it REALLY helped me figure out what I need to do to get the results I wanted! I didnât know how my humidity significantly rose at night while I am asleep! I plan on purchasing another one so I can monitor both sides of the enclosure.My only complaint is the instructions that came with the product. I wish it had recommendations on where to put the product and what the difference was between using the probe and not using the probe. Using the probe to gather humidity I found to be more accurate for me, but either way seems to be fine as long as you know where to place your inkbird.But yea. Other than that itâs extremely easy to set up, app is easy to use and read once you really âplayâ with it, and temperature readings and humidity readings are relatively accurate. Iâm really happy with this product and plan to get more!

Good brewing thermometer with a couple shortcomings
I purchased this thermometer to use for homebrewing, specifically to monitor temps during mashing and while chilling after flameout. I got around to using it for the first time this past weekend and it worked pretty well, the measured temperatures were accurate. However there were two issues that don’t really hamper the functionality, and one was I believe more with the app, but are both a nuisance regardless.First, the probe and wire come wrapped in a tight circle inside the box. Unfortunately the wire retains it’s shape so it was hard to straighten out. I actually held it over the ambient heat of my propane burner and pulled along the wire, hoping to straighten it out, but no luck. I ended up wrapping the wire above the probe around a stainless steel bolt as a weight, to keep the probe submerged. Without doing that, there’s no way the probe would extend down to the mash surface and take readings.Second, the iOS app seemed to lose connection to the thermometer when my phone was locked. This is particularly annoying because I have another Inkbird Bluetooth thermometer I use for grilling, and that one does not disconnect. I didn’t realize this until 15-20 minutes into the mash, and at that point I had to remove and reinsert the battery from the base to get it to reconnect to my phone. I’m hoping this is something that can be fixed with an app update because I really don’t want to use a dedicated phone, iPad, etc. for monitoring the mash. It also kinda makes temperature alerts pointless unless you’re within earshot of your device.Overall it’s a good thermometer, especially since the probe rated to be waterproof. I just hope they are able to correct the wire and connection issues.

Reliable temperature & humidity logger, a bit tricky to change the battery
Overall, I’ve been pleased with this data logger. I bought mine in Sept. 2019, and have used it to log water temperature in an outdoor aquaponics system alongside outdoor air humidity continuously. Data retrieval through the Engbird app is a bit clunky, but works and generates a csv file I can import into Excel. The Engbird app overall on a lower-class Android phone is slow and difficult to visualize the data in, but the data export works well enough.I ran into a bit of trouble when the AAA battery it started on started getting low after 7 months. It’s important to use alkaline AAA batteries, not rechargeable batteries, in it — but they do last a long time. However, it can be dicey getting the temperature logger to link back up with the Engbird app after the battery replacement — I had to e-mail the manufacturer, who gave me good tips. Got it working after reinstalling Engbird and rebooting my phone. Also, be sure to pull all your data off before the battery replacement — it will not be saved.Overall, a good purchase at the price, and a helpful manufacturer to boot.

Was concerned about other comments saying it was complicated to connect to but was able to get this working first time round and only disconnects when I walk to the other side of the apartment. Impressed with the storage of historical data a’d the flexibility thanks to the external sensor.

This is used to monitor the temperature of a LiFePO4 battery in a solar system and it works great. I used ice water to calibrate it and it suits my needs perfectly.
