WARNING: Risk of Fire. Never mount the iPower® Reptile Heat Pad in a manner that would encapsulate heat. (i.e. mounting it on the bottom of a terrarium and then setting the terrarium directly on any type of table or the floor/carpet). Always use the enclosed rubber feet to elevate your terrarium thus allowing the heat to escape. If unsure of bottom mounting, the side mounting of the iPower® Reptile Heat Pad is the preferred application.

Customers say
Customers find the heat mat works well for reptiles, including geckos and hermit crabs, and provides good value for money. The functionality is positive, with customers noting it works perfectly for over a year. The heat output receives mixed feedback – while some say it provides great heat, others report it doesn’t get warm enough. The adhesive quality is also mixed, with some saying it has no problems sticking while others report the adhesive tears off partially. The lack of thermostat control is a significant drawback for many customers.

Great For Ball Pythons
We use these heat mats for all 3 of our ball pythons. We place them under the enclosure, just below the hide on the warm side. They work wonderfully. When using these, try to remember that your temperature gauge that you higher up on the enclosure will not recognize the heat that the mat emits.

Works Well
Gets maybe a tad hot, even outdoors when I have my animal ambassadors out. Not really a problem but snakes are dumb and they will cook themselves on hot spot. If this is under tank with some decent substrate it’s not a problem.I found that another external heat source (such as a heat buddy) will warm this and let it transmit to the glass so I don’t have to keep the pad on non-stop. If you live somewhere and plan for emergencies with your animals this really becomes relevant in a days-on power outage during freezing temps. For anyone that cares I ran this off a mid-sized Bluetti under a canopy tent for hours on Halloween with zero issues and very respectable draw (~15w). The snakes were happy and the tarantula next door enjoyed the radiant warmth too.I do wish it came with a switch and some sort of controllable cutoff temp, but these are very minor wishes. My unit was heated on both sides and had zero issues with the adhesive. Will buy 4+ more for all of my main displays.

On/Off switch NOT PROPERLY MARKED! See Review….
I checked out the reviews prior to purchasing this product, so I had an idea of what I was getting beforehand. I also got the digital thermometer gauge so that helps me to see if I need to turn it down or raise it. I have marked the area on the switch with a sharpie, so I know where I want it when I turn it on. The heat mat works great, but the downfall is not knowing what temperature it is actually on. Not knowing the actual temp. can be very problematic for someone using it for bearded dragons, iguanas, etc. I am using it to heat epoxy resin projects, so I don’t care that it’s not properly marked. I just make sure I keep it between 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit using the thermometer. For the price I paid for it & what I use it for, it wasn’t a bad deal.

Adhesive came off after three days of use!
Adhesive came off after only three days of use! I checked my snake tanks to find the pad on top of the tank below, and the adhesive still stuck to the bottom of the tank above! I tried to peel it off, but it only breaks apart. I’m going to have to use goo remover and a lot of elbow grease. I was issued a refund, but I’m going to put that money towards a more trustworthy and quality brand. This one isn’t worth the value.

Good heat pad but sticky only lasts 2 months
The pad itself works well and keeps temperature. My frustration is in the sticky, I bought it 3/1 and it is now 5/18 and there is no sticky, where it went I have no clue but you can run your had along the pad and there isnât even any residue. And the bottom of the tank is not sticky either. Great mysteries of the world I guess.

I bought 2 of these to put on the back of my hermit crab tank as a heat source. On the first day I started to notice excess humidity in the air on the right side of the tank, where the heater is. Over the next few weeks I struggled to find the cause of the excess humidity, bone dry sand (it should be sandcastle consistency but it wasnât, especially near the heater), and low temperature. I suspected the heater but there were things preventing me from taking them off, including disturbing the crabs. I must have mixed and misted the sand on the right side about a dozen times, even adding more eco earth, while the left side was perfect. After I exhausted all options and no hermit crab expert could tell me a reason beyond âyour temperature-humidity gauge is brokenâ, I decided to trust my instincts and rip both heaters off and replace with a Reptile Basics type heat pad. Within a day, my sand was moist, my heat rose above 80, and my humidity dropped significantly. Conditions in the tank have been perfect since and my crabs are happy. My biggest concern was the dry sand, if a crab buried itself, the tunnels could collapse if the sand is too dry and kill him. It also made the sand very hot, which can burn them. This heat pad may work for reptiles or other animals, but not for hermit crab enclosures. Go for the other type of heat pad, not this or a lamp.

very useful for glass and pvc terrariums

I like this heat mat, it’s not too hot and is able to warm substrate that is several inches (3-4) deep. However, I am extremely frustrated because it has fallen off the bottom of my glass terrarium TWICE.The adhesive does not stick well to the tank; which is what it is supposed to do. How am I supposed to use this product if it keeps falling off?
