Amazing and easy way to keep pond clear, read instructions for safety!
PLEASE read instructions! This is a serious tool, not just a pretty light. This light needs to be put in a solid opaque filter box, not placed directly in pond, pool or hot tub! This will damage eyesight of any living creatures. When we asked the people where we recently purchased some koi for our pond, âHow do you keep your ponds so crystal clear?â They told us about the U-V fitted filter boxes they sale at $600+. I did some research and found this. Made our own filter box. Cleared our 300-350 gal fish pond almost in one day. We had tried all the other ways to keep pond clear (barely bales, chemicals, etc). Very impressive! Again, know what you are doing and how to properly use this U-V LIGHT. We do not run the light at night, not needed to keep pond clear. Excellent value.

Installation tip
Thankfully I read not to just drop it into the water as the light is dangerous to the fish. The add makes it appear that you can. My solution was to purchase a 3â piece of pvc pipe. I dropped 2 pond style airstones down the pipe and then the light. The airstones provide lots of water flow coming up over the light, and the entire unit is still about 3-4â below the surface of my pond standing upright. I just installed it today, so Iâm anxiously awaiting results. I just wanted to share my installation tip, as I almost returned it until I thought of the pvc pipe idea as a housing unit.UPDATE: It burnt out in just one month. Of course 1 day outside of the Amazon return window.

Helps great for green algae in ponds!
I bought 2 and one wasn’t working. The one that did work did an excellent job at clearing the green tint in my ponds – I can see my fish again! Though it was too big to fit into my existing pump, I created a PVC holder with holes, put a mesh screen around the light to block the holes so the fish wouldn’t get in, and stuffed the ends with filter. Within 2 days, the water was great!When I contacted the manufacturer to say one of the lights didn’t work, they were very responsive, asked me to take a video to see what the problem was and quickly turned around shipping me a replacement.Worth the money for sure, easy to use and understand the instructions, and works great!
Don’t buy this product. I followed the instructions and it killed all of my koi. I’m devastated don’t use this product and make the same mistake I made. –
It only took a week to make my pond crystal clear!
Iâve been struggling for a while with keeping my 600 gallon pond clear. I tried everything from using different chemicals that state itâs natural but has killed some of my fish. I also have a 13W UV light that was built into my filter but that wasnât enough. I bought this product stuck it in the waterfall bucket and it took only about a week to make the water crystal clear. Iâm very particular and look for quality so I highly recommend this product and 20W was just enough for the size of my pond and fit perfect in the waterfall filter bucket.

20 W cleared 1000 gallons of pea soup in time. I can see to the bottom it is 5 feet deep.
My pond is about 1000 gallons. I put this light in the filter not directly in the pond, because I can read the directions and I donât want to damage my fish. It clearly states in the directions not to put it directly in with the fish.I want you to see how amazing the water is. I can see all the way back to the bottom of my 5 foot pond. I tried three other UV lights before I found this one. I canât believe it can get the job done with just 20 W.In case youâre wondering you cannot replace the bulb you have to throw the whole thing away and buy another. Thatâs the only downside that I can see. Let me show you my pond.

Urgent Safety Concern â Hygger 32W Aquarium UV Light
Hello,I am writing to share a deeply upsetting experience after purchasing two Hygger 32W Aquarium UV Lights â one for my large aquarium and another for my pond with turtles.Your product description stated it is âsafe for fish,â so I trusted it for both my turtles and my fish. However, the device emits 254nm UVC light, which I later learned can cause severe eye damage if animals are directly exposed. Unfortunately, this is exactly what happened.The morning after installing the lamp, both of my turtles went completely blind. Their eyes developed a white film, and they could not open them for almost a week. At the same time, my fish lost its ability to orient itself in the water and completely stopped eating.Since then, I have had to visit a veterinarian, start special treatment, and now provide ongoing daily care and medication in the hope of restoring my turtlesâ sight and helping my fish recover. Seeing our once-active pets so helpless and visually impaired has been heartbreaking for my children â they are deeply upset and worried every day.I am asking for your assistance not only with a full refund for both lamps, but also in addressing the harm caused to my animals â and I strongly urge you to update your product listing with clear, visible safety warnings. hygger UV Clarifier: Effective, Stellar Support, but Longevity is Key
Living in hot Texas, maintaining a three-tier concrete fountain free of mossy green algae is a constant battle. I was very excited to try this large-capacity hygger UV light, hoping it would clear the water without harsh chemicals.After draining and power-washing my fountain, the initial results were very promising: the water remained reasonably clear and the unit functions as promised, greatly improving the overall appearance and health of the feature.However, after only a couple of months, the unit unfortunately burned out, indicating water likely breached the housing. Given the price point, longevity is a critical factor.I must highly commend the stellar responsiveness of customer support, though. They helped troubleshoot the issue and immediately sent a replacement. I will install the new unit and update my review after a few months to assess its durability. While the initial quality is excellent and customer service is stellar, I am withholding a full recommendation until the longevity is proven.

I have been fighting green algae pea soup in my pond since spring. Nothing I did worked. You couldnât see anything beyond six inches. Today three days after I put the light in my filter box I can see all the rocks on the bottom of the pond. The water is crystal clear.I was so impressed with this light I bought another one. After 3 weeks this light burned out. Fortunately I was able to get my money back from Amazon. The other light that I bought one and a half a month ago looks like it is also burning out.
