Make the job easier
These work great! I trimmed 2 horses and a donkey’s hooves and the last was as sharp/quick as the first. I have had higher quality nippers in the past, but for what I need them for, these work exceptionally well. I will probably run a piece of sandpaper over them before using next time, but they don’t need actually sharpened yet. Happy with purchase.

Got these about 5 years ago, but kept wondering why my nippers were getting so hard to use on my last couple trims (4-5 week schedule, 2 horses), no amount of WD40 could save them. Because I went and finally checked my orders and learned they were from 2017 and it’s definitely time for a new pair. I don’t baby my tools, I literally THROW THEM ACROSS THE BARN like a baseball. I honestly don’t even think I’ve ever sharpened these myself either. Well, maybe once last summer. I’m pathetically weak with baby hands, it literally takes me hours to trim my own horses. I’m by no means a professional trimmer and just do my own horses because nobody can come to my area in the boonies on an actual schedule. These nippers really have seen a huge, used and abused lifespan for what they are. Guess it’s time for a new pair and to hang these old boys up. That said, I probably won’t get another pair because I’ve had my eye on a real nice premium priced pair for a while now. But these were honestly good enough and they are definitely affordable enough to take a beating.

Total garbage, waste of money.
I get that these are the most “inexpensive” nippers you can find, but I promise you you’re better off spending a little more on nippers that actually work. These are so poorly made, and it is incredibly difficult to get a single nip in even on a soft hoof. I learned that lesson after wasting my time and having to just return them. Learn from my mistake!

It is not as sharp as I thought it would be. Did not come with a cover for the blades so that was my first clue. I couldn’t cut my pigs hooves

I purchased a horse that needed trimming very badly. I read the reviews on these nippers and wondered if these would work. For the price I was willing to give it a chance. When they came I could see the cutting face was not ground flush with each other and the stop is very rough. I worked with a file for 5 minutes and had the cutting face tight. These cut the hooves like butter. I have a bad shoulder and struggled to lift and hold the hoof will trimming, so I had my son hold the leg up will I trimmed. It took us 10 minutes to do a rough trim, remove one inch of excess hoof on all four feet. This will hold him till the farrier comes to do it properly. These nippers performed very well but did need some work to perform the best. I do have a small GE nipper for little donkeys but the wouldn’t open enough for the big hoof.All that rambling to say, they worked great in a pinch.
