Use it as a daily toner!
I love Puracyn! I use it as a toner. This gem of a trick was taught by a laser educator who uses it for cleansing during skin (aesthetic) laser treatments on her patients. She said its great with killing any bacteria on the skin which can lead to acne and it’s gentle. I’ve been using it for years – it doesn’t dry my skin out and keeps my skin clean. My husband even uses it for all his scrapes and cuts!

Great for treating UTIs
Although there is no double blinded research to support the use of Puracyn in children with chronic urinary tract infections (because a study has not been conducted), I decided to give it a try on my son who does intermittent catheterization and had been experiencing chronic UTIs and had to be constantly on an antibiotic. My husband who is a physician researched it and felt it could not hurt him. He supported me giving it a try, so after my son finished his last antibiotic, I tried this product. I heard about it from quadriplegic patients who self-cath and suffer with chronic UTIs and resistant bacterial bladder infections. My son however has spina bifida. They gave it such raving reviews we had to give it a try. We spray the catheter and catheterization sight as well as insert a small amount daily (20cc) into the bladder and drain after a few minutes. I skipped a couple of days last week of using the puracyn inside the bladder just to test my hypothesis and sure enough with in 2 days he had sediment again, cloudy urine, strong smelling urine and cathing had begun to hurt. All signs something was brewing. So I started putting it in the bladder in larger doses (40 cc) 2 and 3 times a day and within 1 day we saw improvements and with in 3 days he was back to normal. Someone has to get this approved by the FDA for the treatment of UTIs. It is a miracle cure in our experience. I am buying a 6 month supply today. We can’t live without it. And for those religious folks out there, I was praying diligently the day I searched the web to find an answer to my son’s problem–chronic UTIs–and my prayers were answered. I found Puracyn. Also, I have been in to see the pediatric urologist and we did all the urodynamic tests on the bladder and his bladder is the same as it was the last time we checked 1 year ago. It was a good sign to me that the puracyn was not harming the bladder in any way. We will continue to do bladder health checks regularly. I hate experimenting with things that have not been approved but so many things were helping me to feel peaceful enough to give it a try and it worked! Going on 2 months now UTI free.

TOO Expensive. Use an Alternative instead.
This is a nice product but it is TOO expensive. Unless you are using it internally, I would suggest just using Distilled water mixed with the FDA suggested amount of liquid household Bleach (Clorox) to render it safe for use and handling. After spending hundreds of dollars on this product in the past, and getting the same results from the proper mixture of sodium hypochlorite (6 percent unscented/unfragranced/unaltered liquid household bleach such as Clorox) and distilled water. I can’t give you a formula without placing myself in danger of a legal dispute, but your solution needs to result in a 0.5 percent w/v solution that is called Darkin’s solution, that is used as an antiseptic to clean infected topical wounds. Research it for yourself first before you attempt to make it. Don’t just try diluting it unless you understand what you are doing and are fluent on the understanding of ratios. If your household liquid bleach was 5 percent, you would want to dilute it with water 1:10. That actually means using 1 part of bleach to 9 parts of water, to get a 0.5 percent solution. With 6 percent liquid household bleach you would need to actually add a little more water. There are plenty of Government websites like The National Library of Medicine and the FDA that will have articles about it, but don’t make it if you don’t have the proper (eyedropper / graduated cylinder) equipment and safety (nitrile gloves / eye goggles) clothing to make it.
