Attracts many species of birds
I found laying the cylinder down in a 10 by 10 flat seed tray allows more birds to enjoy it without fighting. The seeds that fall off stay available to be eaten.

Best cylinder seed for price and quality
I am a repeat buyer of this product, as well as having it on subscribe and save. It attracts birds like crazy. I live in WI and have 4 different kinds of woodpeckers, 3 cardinal pairs, house finches, grosbeaks, sparrows, redwing blackbirds. All birds love it squirrel eats what is dropped not spongy mess in the yard. Awesome product

Great bird seed but weeds sprouting
I have purchased these large seed cylinders several times in the past. They are very sturdy and have not fallen apart upon unpackaging. They attract numerous types of birds, including cardinals, woodpeckers, blue jays and chickadees (but also a lot of starlings.) Typically, we have 2 of them hanging and the cylinders last about 3-4 weeks depending on the number of starlings that show up.This month, however, I was disappointed in the seeds that sprouted under the bird feeder, as you can see in these pictures. Though they are easy to pull, it is annoying. I filled an entire pitcher with the seed sprouts I pulled.

Great treat for wild birds.
I received these on Feb 14, and my wild bird friends have already finished one off. What falls to the ground gets eaten buy the squirrels. Great item if you feed wild birds.

Falls apart when it rains
First time user. I bought 2 of these and hung them outside on a purchased cylinder feeder specially made for this item. All seemed okay for 2 days but after the first rain shower the whole thing fell off on to the ground into a mushy mess. Whatever holds the seeds together is not water/weather proof so they are useless! I won’t even put the second one out. Complete waste of $45!
