Works as advertised. I like being able to check the water when I’m traveling and being able to just walk by the tank and with one quick glance see how the water is doing without all the test kit process. And just to check things i took a water sample to my favorite aquarium store and they’re test match. Yes, you should get one.

Donât buy! This thing is trash!! I did EXACTLY what the instructions said to calibrate the PH and afterwards. Everything is reading zero. This thing is so stupid! A waste of money!

â WORKS ACCURATELY FOR THE MOST PART, BUT A LITTLE DIFFICULT TO CALIBRATE.
Ever since I set up my new reef tank, with all softie corals, I’ll admit, I became a little lazy in regards to testing my water parameters, as it’s very tedious, especially with the in depth testing (which is the high quality testing, that is always accurate within .1 ppt). Discovering that there is a device such as this, I got excited and figured that I’d give it a try.I set up this reader, and at the same time, I also tested all the parameters with my manual testing kits by Red Sea. Surprisingly, all the readings were within .1 to .3 ppts, in comparison to each other. So, I can at least say that this set up is decently accurate.â EASY SET UP: you really have to go through and carefully read the manual that comes with this, BEFORE attempting to set everything up. then, as you’re setting it up, read the steps once more. it’s kind of easy to become lost and confused if you’re not paying 100% attention and have yourself and all the components organized.â COMPACT, SMALL FOOTPRINT: the actual rod that had the sensor for the readings is nice and small, and compact. you can either set it up inside of you tank, or as many reefers prefer, you can place it in your sump or overflow box, to hide it. it’s the same general size as a small wattage bar heater, so it doesn’t take up much space at all.â COMPLICATED CALIBRATION: the worst part is getting everything calibrated to make sure you get as accurate of a reading as possible, and this is where things can get a little confusing and tedious. not everything is labelled clearly, so i had to create my own labels for the packets and furthermore, this kit only comes with two packets per parameter that you’re needing, but at least they’re the most important readings in regards to keeping a tank with corals.I wish that this kit came with more packets, or perhaps there is a set in which you can purchase the packets separately. The rod itself feels pretty durable and solid, and the only part that needs delicate handling is the sensors on the end. The readings come pretty quickly after set up, but I would recommend taking at least three readings of each parameter and then taking the average of those three readings. It seems to work well for the most part, so the only complicated thing is set up and getting it all started. After that, it’s pretty much readings-on-demand. As far as if it’s worth the monetary value, I would have to say that it is, especially if you have a busy work schedule or life in general and don’t always have the time to spare to sit down and do manual testing. This is a quick and MOSTLY accurate way to know your parameters.â ï¸ ð OVERALL RATING: ââââ FOUR STARS âââââââââââââââââââââââ¡
