Customers say
Customers find this cat litter superior to regular options, with pellets that are easy to sweep up and work better than alternatives. The litter receives mixed feedback about its dust content – while some report hardly any dust, others mention it turns to sawdust when wet. Customers disagree on whether it’s worth the price, and while some appreciate the odor control, others report terrible odors. The pellets break down too quickly with urine, and customers disagree on whether it makes a mess.

Great low tracking and clean alternative
I switched to this litter in an attempt to get my cat to stop tracking the other clay litters throughout the house. The other litter would get stuck in her feet and then would end up everywhere throughout the house. This litter, with the proper maintenance schedule, does completely remove the litter tracking. I did get some litter tracking when I didn’t change it out often enough, so you do have to remember to do that. Probably twice a week is enough for my one cat in my specific litter box.Once I switched though, I noticed the other quality of life improvements from using this litter. For one, I don’t mind changing the litter anymore. Instead of looking at big wet disgusting clumps of litter, now I’m greeted with a ton of dry and unassuming sawdust. It’s no longer a task I hate doing because it’s gross. Now, I really don’t mind doing it at all. The process is a little different since you’re sifting the sawdust out of the litter box and into a trash can and trying to keep the pellets in the scoop, but it’s not much different. It takes a little bit longer but I find it to be much more relaxing. Lastly, I love how after finishing cleaning the litter the scoop is completely clean. There’s nothing left stuck to it like standard litters. As far as odor goes, I do notice that the poop smell isn’t as well contained, so that’s something you may want to consider. It really depends on how well your cat buries it and how long you’ve left it without changing it. The pee smell is completely eliminated. Overall I’m really happy with it!

Truly odorless results
I ordered the Feline Arm and Hammer pine pellets to be used with a sifting litter box set. Conceptually seemed easy enough but there was a learning curve for both myself and Echo Gabriel – my cat.Instructions on how to transition from straight clump litter to the pellets are easy to follow. But things went downhill from there.First my kitten was taking the pellets out and swatting them all around the house and sometimes would even be chewing on the pellets. That worried me because I was concerned about him developing an obstruction in his stomach or intestines.Second trying to sift the pellets was not easy at least for me. It made lots of dust, pellets would get stuck in the openings and inevitably litter would spill onto the floor. I was not a happy camper. However I was determined to make this work because the pellets did the one thing I wanted the most and that was eliminate odors. And when I say eliminate odors I mean zero stench as in zip, zilch, nada, nothing. So I decided I needed to figure out a way to use the pine pellets so that I could do the sifting with minimal dust and not have to stop every nano second to clear out the large pellets that were getting stuck and hindering the sifting process.Second I needed to find a way to discourage Echo from playing his game of swatting pellets all over the house, and then chewing them up.My solution was to use an old fashioned blender. I take no more than a cup at a time of the whole pellets and alternate between grinding and grating . This allows me to control the consistency of what was now becoming a sort of pine litter/sawdust.At first I only made enough to fill a 2 gallon container with this sawdust. I wanted to see if it would work and if Echo would accept the texture of this new litter. To use I fill the litter box with a layer of approximately 3 inches of sawdust and then add about a cup and a half of Fresh step clumping litter.Doing that significantly helps minimize dusting. But what I like the best is that it creates very loose pine sawdust clumps that I can quickly scoop out throughout the day as needed without having to do the sifting every single time.So basically I manage the litter box throughout the day by just scooping and replenishing litter as needed. The litter box stays clean, and there is absolutely no oder because of how the pine sawdust absorbs and effectively neutralizes any odor. For sanitary reasons I sift the litter and wash all basins out weekly. Then I just recycle back in the box the sifted litter replenishing as needed to ensure enough is in the box.I dump the entire mixture at every 4 weeks, sanitize the bins again and replace with a completely new batch of my pine sawdust mixtureFollowing this method has been been very effective in neutralizing any and all odors. Love the outcome!

Hate traditional cat litter?
I bought this for my daughter to use with her cats, as I have used it previously myself. It may seem expensive at first but you go through a lot less of it! If you hate cat litter all over your floor this is. Great way to eliminate that problem. You donât have dust that comes with traditional litter. If you like the smell of pine , then his is a much more pleasant scent than stinky traditional litter. It does take some getting use to for a feline and a slow integration is recommended but itâs well worth it, in my opinion. It clumps similar to clay litter but smells better! I think this litter works very well, doesnât require changing as frequently, smells much better, no dust and looks better as well.

âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸ Great Odor Control, but Not a Fan of the Sawdust
Feline Pine Non-Clumping Cat Litter does an amazing job with controlling odors â my litter box always smells fresh, even with multiple cats. I love that itâs natural and thereâs no overwhelming artificial scent. That being said, Iâm not the biggest fan of how the urine turns the pellets into sawdust. It makes it harder to scoop and can get a little messy. Itâs more of a personal preference, though, because overall, itâs still a good litter that works really well for odor control. Plus, it is a good price for what you get compared to other cat litters which can get expensive; especially with multiple cats.If odor control is your main concern and you donât mind the sawdust texture, this is definitely worth trying!

The search has come to an end!
Before I got my kitten I was on the search for the best litter/litter box set up as my husband is ultra sensitive to cat odors. I ended up purchasing a stainless steel litter box with a sifting top layer. When we first got our kitten I just used regular litter as that is what she was used to. I then slowly added the pine pellets and eventually went 100% pellet litter. She uses the box great and there is zero tracking. There is a smell but kind of just a woody smell, not a litter smell. I scoop once in the AM and once in the PM. Itâs honestly kind of satisfying to have the dissolved pine pellets fall through the holes and just have fresh pine left in the box. Iâm very happy with my purchase and will continue to use this product! Also, no complaints from my husband about the smell, which is a win!

The product is great and does exactly what it says in the description. Unfortunately, one of my cats disliked the pine smell and crapped on my carpet instead. Gave it to a friend, and her cats used it with no problems. Cats are fickle – what a surprise.
