FREE BAG, PRICE & FEEDING TIPS & IF U CAN’T AFFORD MORE FEED!
Review from my bird lover friend (I edited) and myself, a recent convert:This is my favorite bird feed to buy!Unlike most other or cheaper bird products, it has tons of hulled sunflower seeds, and you don’t get the shells scattered all over the yard. It smells delish, almost tempting to eat (Don’t! It has a warning that it’s not for human consumption, since it has an additive for birds). There’s zero waste and it attracts all kinds of birds. It’s well worth the price than the cheaper feed.Feeding birds will lower your stress levels. Birds are also a pure, educational joy to watch.I’ve learned about, and appreciated birds a lot more, since I’ve started feeding them.Get your family involved, especially the kids!Guests always love sitting at the big picture window over looking the backyard, and watching the birds. It’s a great conversation starter, and so serene to watch. It’s very sweet when the male bird feeds his female mate, and also when one or both parents bring their baby fledglings to the feast, and feeds them by their vocal, open mouths.PRICE ORDERING TIPS:WATCH OUT:For the Price Hikes at Amazon when availability is low, which is why I don’t have it on automatic subscription or Subscribe & Save. It sometimes goes up to $20+.ORDER IN ADVANCE: Sometimes you have to wait a week or more, and not PRIME next day delivery. There are also limits on quantity.PRICING:This product is a great price for $12.58 at Amazon and Walm_ _ t (both online and retail locations).Amazon’s price varies (unlike Walm_ _t), however, and can go over $20.If you order online at Walm_ _t, there’s a big price difference between the company’s Wild Delight brand at $18.14 a bag or more, and their identical “3-D Pet Products” brand, which is made exclusively for Walm_ _t at only $12.58.Unlike another reviewer, I haven’t found this bird feed at half price, even with the 3D name, at Walm_ _ t.This reviewer’s particular location seems to sell it for such a great price.Supermarkets sell it for about $17, but not all of them stock it. Look for their sales at $2 or more off.GET 1 FREE BAG FOR EVERY 10 BAGS:Cut out the UPC code on the back of the bag, and go online to Wild Delight for their Frequent Buyer Club form. For every 10 UPC codes that you mail in, you’ll get a voucher by mail for a free bag.You redeem the voucher at any retail location that sells the bird feed, which they MUST accept.Tell them to look up the voucher program on the Wild Delight website, if they’re unfamiliar with it.Please note that ONLY the WILD DELIGHT Brand can be redeemed for vouchers, and NOT their3-D Pet Products brand made strictly for Walm_ _t.I plan on donating my vouchers to a wild bird rescue/rehab sanctuary. Look up the ones closest to your area, and ask if they can use them.TYPES OF BIRDS IT ATTRACTS:Since I switched to Wild Delight, I get a lot more variety in the birds that come to my yard, such as:The BLUEJAYS (the male and female look alike) love the hulled and unhulled peanuts and sunflower seeds in particular. They’re vocal, fearless and aggressive. They will also come very close to you if you’re next to the bird feeder, after a while. There are UTube videos on training them to perch on your hand to feed. The NORTHERN CARDINAL (a bright red bird) and his mate (beige, with an orange plume on top of her head, and orange tinged wings), and the male is usually the first bird to feed out of all the species here. Two different species of WOODPECKERS, such as the RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER (a beautifully colorful, white with black speckles body and a bright red stripe on its head) and the traditional, red plumage mohawk headed, cartoon Woody the Woodpecker type,.The MOCKINGBIRD (gray with black streaks on its body and a white belly) that imitates all types of sounds to attract its mate, even machinery! There’s the striking looking, RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD with separate stripes of scarlet red and lemon yellow on its wing against a shiny, black body.Cute, little birds like the BLACK-CAPPED CHICKADEE, SNOWBIRDS, WRENS, TITMOUSE, and various SPARROWS have all been flocking to my yard, since I’ve changed my bird food.I’ve even seen the occasional RED ROBIN at the feeder when there’s a shortage of worms and insects. The MOURNING DOVES or PIGEONS do not eat the hulled peanuts, but the squirrels do raid the bird feed because of the hulled and unhulled peanuts, other seeds and grains. I don’t mind the squirrels, since we only have one family in our yard, and I leave out plenty of feed for them and the birds. The native GRACKELS (big, black birds with shimmering bluish or greenish heads) love the peanuts (hulled and unhulled), and sunflower seeds. The STARLINGS are an invasive species but pretty, with white specks on their blackish brownish body. They can actually imitate human speech.Watch a UTube video about a woman who rescued a chick and taught it certain phrases. Please be aware that some states outlaw keeping wildlife as pets. Birds are also a commitment, and you must learn how to take care of them properly.BLACK CROWS also occasionally flock.PURPLE FINCHES with reddish color (not purple) heads and chests, with their mates, also come to the feed.BIRD FEEDING TIPS:1. Feed the birds only once a day when: The weather is warmer with plenty of flowers and natural seed on the ground. This is so they can forage and teach their young how to do so, too.2. Feed them at least twice or three times a day when it’s cold or there’s snow on the ground (they can’t find food under the snow), or when it’s raining.Birds expend a lot more energy just keeping themselves warm, so you’ll be a big help if you can feed them more.3. Use mesh bird feed containers when it’s raining, so the rain goes right through and doesn’t collect.4. Scatter some seed further away from the main area, to attract the smaller birds who are intimidated by the bigger, more aggressive ones.5. Put the bird feed out before you go to bed, so the birds have food first thing in the morning. The birds come out right after dawn when there’s enough light. They don’t fly at night because they can’t see (unless they’re owls or nocturnal).Don’t do this if you have predators that get drawn to the food, like raccoons, etc., that’ll eat it all up beforehand.Especially don’t do this if you have bears in the area!6. Choose a location that has overhanging features, such as tree branches to provide protection from predators, such as a swooping hawk.7. Supplement with peanuts. I buy big bags of peanuts in their shells at the supermarket. You can also buy a large 5 lb or heavier of the hulled peanut kernels at Walm_ _t or at the bird food section at some stores or online. This is to entice the grackels, starlings and squirrels away from the bird feed. Bluejays also scoop it up.IF YOU RUN OUT OR CAN’T AFFORD MORE BIRD FEED:Put out BREAD and/or ORGANIC POPCORN.MULTI-GRAIN BREAD or the ones with visible seeds are their favorites.Large chunks for the big birds and squirrels, i.e, blue jays, grackels, etc. Small pieces for the little birds.I break up the bread over a big bowl, and store it in clear plastic bags while I’m watching tv the night before morning feeding.Bread is made from grain, so birds and squirrels will both eat it.I buy bread HALF-PRICE at the supermarket’s bakery section where they sell expired goods.A bag costs only 30 cents – $3, depending on the brand and type of bread.ORGANIC POPCORN:I’ve seen the birds eat this, as it’s made from corn.CHEAPEST POPCORN:Buy a SILICONE POPCORN MAKER and ORGANIC POPCORN KERNELS from Amazon (best prices). The Silicone popcorn maker collapses, is compact and easy to store, rather than using a big Air Popper. The kernels have no additives, and are butter and salt-free.I don’t like using non-organic kernels, as they can be from corn grown with pesticides.MICROWAVABLE POPCORN:This is a more expensive option than using the kernels.Make sure to buy the CHEMICAL-FREE version, as the chemicals used in the regular kindhas been linked to “Popcorn Lung,” an adverse health condition (look it up).I never get reimbursed for my reviews, and just like to help others find good products, and avoid bad ones. You’ll be delighted with Wild Delight, because of all the types of birds that it attracts!Yes, a cheesy line! LOL

It works! The birds love it, the squirrels stay away
Been using this for a couple of weeks and I’m really happy with it. I have at least 3 grey squirrels and 2 black squirrels, which were completely emptying my feeder every 3 days. Now I rarely see them, this week I’ve gone 2 days without seeing them at all, for first time. If they do have a go at the food, they might have one or two pieces and then go away, whereas previously they would sit for 30-40 minutes, constantly eating. Two things I was worried about after reading all the reviews: the birds wouldn’t like it, and the squirrels would get used to it. First, the birds love it. I’m in NY and get red-bellied woodpecker, Cardinals, blue Jay, chickadee, mourning dove, nuthatch, and sparrows. The woodpecker is my favourite and I’d see it once every few days until I switched to this food; now I see them multiple times every day. The Cardinals seemed unsure at first, but now come back over and over. Second, the squirrels did seem to get used to it – at first they would not touch it and would be visibly uncomfortable. Then they did start to eat the larger peanuts, but they’ll just have a couple of pieces then run into the trees and rub their face. They just don’t like it. After 2 weeks, I see them maybe once a day for two minutes vs multiple times a day for 30-40 mins at a time. I can live with that!I didn’t find it expensive given how long it will last without the squirrels eating it. Nothing else I tried solved the squirrel problem; this appears to have done the trick! And for those who are concerned, it doesn’t cause any harm to the squirrels, they don’t like it. You can see the reaction in the video – it makes them rub their face and they run away. One squirrel coughed a few times. They are not writhing around in agony. It would be like me eating a chilli, I would not like it and would not do it again but it would not cause me any harm. They just clearly don’t like it.UPDATE: 2 weeks later and I have not had a single squirrel in that time. They don’t even go near the feeder. And I’m still on my first bag – birds visiting constantly throughout the day and I’m approaching a month for one bag. I estimate another week at least before it’s all gone. And I now have a northern mockingbird I didn’t have previously. So still very happy with this after a month.

    Only bird seed I’ll buy
This is the only bird seed I buy for our bird feeder. Squirrels are always such a problem, I’ve tried greasing the post and somehow the squirrels always figure out how to get to the seed. The birds enjoy this feed and brings all breeds of birds without the annoying squirrels scaring everyone away.

    Worth Every Penny!
This stuff really works! I was gifted one of those bird feeders with a camera and was so irritated with literally hundreds of videos of squirrels sitting in it and just pigging out. Now it’s almost all birds with the occasional squirrel that sniffs the food and leaves! The food is a little pricier, but without squirrels troughing it all, with little bird appetites, it is lasting a really long time! This product really works – I wish I could post all my videos!

Birds love the Sizzle seed. Don’t hesitate to use it!
None of those messy sunflower seeds. Get more seed actually without filling the bag with them just to take up space.

    Birds love this.
If you want to attract birds this food is great! I used it for a while putting the food on my bedroom window, until the birds would start pecking on the window too early in the morning so I stopped putting the food there lol. The Birds love this food.
