Using For White’s Tree Frogs
So far, so good. I bought the 18″ light bar when we setup our White’s Tree Frogs. It fits perfectly on our Thrive 18x18x24 enclosure. After some research Ferguson Zone 2 seems to be the sweet spot for the WTF. I set the automatic timer for Zone 2 and I see the frogs basking under the light every morning, and nearly all day. They look healthy, they’re eating, and growing. The auto timer works great so far. Guess we’ll see how well it holds up in a year. We’re using it resting on the mesh top. Super easy install. The instructions on programming aren’t amazing, but good enough to follow. So far, the value has been good to excellent. I’ve noticed no extra heat generated. The DHP is taking care of the heating requirements.

Definitely worth the money
Have two of these (16″ and 27″) for my bearded dragon and Ball Python. This LED light is great, keep in mind that it does not generate enough heat to warm the enclosure. I have the seller assurance that it is providing light in the proper spectrum and so far I have not seen in problems in either of my animals. They are definitely worth the money and the function that allows you to automatically set the lighting for your animals needs is great. Only complaint is that they do just pop on and off instead of being a gradual transition and the control box has no memory function so needs to be set every time it is unplugged or the power glitches. Very easy to use, just a couple button pushes to set time and Ferguson Zone (a reptiles natural sun exposure zone).

Works well, but the daylight cycle percentage it has isn’t as smooth as I hoped it goes up/down by tens instead of one by one. Other than that still SUPER COOL! Makes it so I don’t have to worry about turning it on/off and gives my beardy a more natural daylight cycle. Hope they can advance to make one that heats and puts off uvb with the daylight cycle soon.

We paired this with the Zilla vertical gecko palace – aka the glass habitat i reviewed in a separate review. This light sits perfectly right on top like it was meant to be. Itâs kind of like the âchandelierâ in a fancy lizard penthouse.Super easy setup. Just plug it in, check the included chart for what your specific reptile needs (ours is a crested gecko), and youâre basically done. It mimics natural daytime and nighttime, and once itâs up and running, it pretty much goes on autopilot. The brackets are adjustable to the tank dimensions. Just slide to the edge of the tank and set in place on top.Our gecko seems pretty chill under it. I donât know if heâs catching rays or planning his next escape, but either way this light keeps his tropical vibe going strong haha!If youâre like me and want something that works without needing a science degree to figure out, this is the one to get. I spent maybe 5-10mins setting it up and itâs run flawlessly. (See my other review of the tank- that shows the light on) Unfortunately when I wrote this review, it was in the evening after the light had cycled off for the day.

Recommeded purchase for a long term Uvb option
yeah it’s a little pricey but still about the same as you’d have to pay for bulbs in the time this will last. It’s really cool as you can turn the uvb up high or dim it to a forest reptile level. (solarmeter tested) I really love mine and have ordered another. Do not order the ReptiZoo thinking it’s the same thing. I wasn’t able to register any UVB on that one with my solarmeter and it doesn’t have nearly as many options.

So far so good!
I was hesitant at first to splurge due to the price point, but going on two weeks now and very happy with my decision. I bought two of the 27 inch lighting fixtures. I love that you can set the lighting mode and percentage of daylight, that corresponds with your reptile breed ( specified in the manual). Another feature I hadnât noticed at first, was the timed day to dusk feature. Turn it on, set the time of day, select your mode/zone ( % of sun exposure), the light mimics the sunrise to sunset throughout the day, and then shuts off. It is LED and thereâs not heat. I have to tweak in my exposure in accordance to enclosure size, but no regrets so far. My only issue, neither of the two hanging options worked for my enclosures, I had to use zip ties ( screen clips wouldnât lock tightly into lights frame track and it kept falling). Good buy!
