Bright, submersible and more features than I need. Great replacement light for Fluval Edge 12g
So much to love about this light. First, out of the box it appears to be well manufactured.The fact that it’s submersible give you some options for creative uses like back and side lighting a tank.The following is for everyone who is looking to replace their failed Fluval Edge light:The 8″ size fits nice and snug across the top of the Fluval Edge 12G hood. The light that comes with the edge aquarium is notoriously bad and mine failed a few years after setup. A replacement from the manufacturer costs close to $100. I took the original out (housing and all) and pushed this one up top, using the suction cups to hold the hold thing in place. It really is a perfect fit and seems a bit brighter than the original light. I may purchase a 2nd one to make the setup bright enough for more interesting plants. The cord to the remote is more than long enough to clear the housing behind the aquarium to give you easy access to lighting controls.

Very bright light with lots of color and programming functions. Instructions to program are fairly easy to understand.Build quality looks excellent and they are water proof, so you don’t have to worry if they get splashed or submerged.

Itâs fine for for $40.
I am 9 months in to using this. Overall summary. Itâs great for a beginner and well worth the $40. When this one fails, Iâll definitely buy a better quality one.Pro- makes my plants grow.- has been mostly reliable- the timer setting had been running like clockwork, and is very enjoyable.Con- timer is a nightmare to figure out how to set- suction cups are unreliable so I super glued it in place.- water resistance seems lacking. Iâve noticed a leak recently. Itâs still working though. Iâll just keep my aquarium less full. Iâve included a photo. I think itâll be fine as long as Iâm mindful about water levels going forward.

Great light!
Iâm very pleased with this light! I am able to keep my red plants red. I like that I could adjust the duration and the intensity when hair algae showed up. I keep it at 70% brightness and on for 10 hours. This seems to be the sweet spot. I have mine mounted on the top of my lid. Its sleek design looks great and my plants are thriving. The price is very reasonable for all the features the light comes with. Itâs so easy to use.

Extremely Bright and Reliable Aquarium Light
Not the cheapest, but definitely worth it. This aquarium light is extremely brightâI actually had to turn it down compared to my previous one, which was barely bright enough to light the tank. After four months of use, the suction cups have held up perfectly and it hasnât dropped once. A great upgrade.

Nice light but with issues.
Nice light and I like the fact you can gradually decrease or increase the color level with the controller. Set up with nice bright white for the plants in one of my 5 10-gallon Betta tanks and just switch to blue light for the night using the in-line controller. HOWEVER, as I’ve found with several similar lights with similar in-line controllers, the 24/7 mode simply does NOT work. Hygger NEVER answers their customer service number and this particular model isn’t even listed on their website so I’m wondering if this is a “discontinued model”.In addition, I attached this light with the suckers to the underside of the lid of my Fluval Flex aquarium using its suckers and it kept dropping off. It only stayed attached once I smeared some Vaseline on the sucker pads before attaching them to the lid.Otherwise nice light, but it doesn’t fully work in the way it’s supposed to.

Intense color enhancement!
Iâm giving this light 5 stars because it functions well, and it really is bright at the highest setting, and it does make the colors of the fish pop. However in my opinion it really exaggerates reds. This includes on driftwood. Iâm not sure what color LED does that but itâs a little much to me.That being said the suction cups hold well, even on the slightly curved lid I have for my tank. The built in LEDs on my aquariums hood pale in comparison to these. Iâm sure the plants will really flourish with this light. When I added this light, for the first time my husband complimented my guppies and said âwow, I never noticed how pretty these are⦠they look like mini bettas!â And itâs true. The light really brings out all the color and iridescence of fish.I only really care for the white light setting. I hoped it might be possible to change the warmth of the lighting since there are various solid color settings but itâs not one of the features. The sunrise/sunset color is just orange, and itâs a little too intense in my opinion.Overall itâs a nice light. I wish I had another comparable light on the market to compare it against. I would wonder if they all bring out colors in a similar way or notâ¦

Awesome light bar!
The 24 hour natural light cycle is the best part about these! I have them in 2 different bioactive terrariums for reptiles and they’re PERFECT. No smart features needed, they do what they’re supposed to all on their own!

Absolutely love this light!!! Fits perfectly in the lid of the 15 gallon fluval flex 2.0 and is way nicer than the stock light. Easy to set up with the 24/7 timer. Just love it.

This is a great light, lots of features and very bright. The only issue and why I knocked off one star was that after about a week or so the suction cups release and it falls into the tank. I have to keep re mounting it. I also noticed that after being in the water for a few hours the lens on the inside had condensation in it. Not sure if it will hold up if it’s placed under water for a lpng period of time, but so far it’s been doing a good job at keeping my plants and fish happy.
